“A nice surprise on a work day”

Morwell Centenary Rose Garden
Ranked #1 of 12 things to do in Morwell
Attraction details
Reviewed April 4, 2018

After living for 26 years in Australia, it was a very nice surprise (travel down memory lane) to find a garden that not only looks but smells amazing. All these roses (some in bloom, some in seed) from so many varieties and selections.
The garden itself is a nice place for a quite walk or for a visit with little once. Also, it would an amazing backdrop for photographs

This rose garden is set in what is effectively a series of traffic roundabouts. It surprises you constantly with where it goes and the lovely landscaping. The roses are stunning and you can just 'smell the roses' for a short break or have some fish and chips with friends which I noticed some people enjoying.

Walked through the rose garden this morning about 8.30am, nobody about except for those marvellous volunteers who were cutting off the spent flowers, these people are to be well and truly congratulated for the marvellous job they do in looking after these
stunning rose gardens.
Everything is so well maintained ,the beds, the lawns and the pathways, if you could find a weed it would be a lonely one so to speak.
Colour everywhere, walking through the arbour covered in red roses was a treat and the rotunda looks superb covered with it’s flowers.
I was impressed with the garden area where the plaques have been attached to rocks , a nice touch , interesting to read. Their is seating about and toilet facilities. I really enjoyed my walk around and one can appreciate the work that has been put in over the years to achieve what we have to enjoy today . Well done to all involved and thank you.
Make sure you visit.
