Port Campbell is a convenient spot on your GOR route, especially if you want to capture the magic light on the 12 apostles at dawn and dusk.
Days Hill Country Cottages provided us this nice spot to stay and visit around: Quiet but close to both GOR and Port Campbell for its (too few) restaurants and stores (if you fancy to prepare your own meals - quite useful for early morning light chasing ;-)
We had an en-suite room in one of the chalets, nicely equipped and clean. Lauren welcomed us and showed us around also. She even took care of some clothes we forgot there and sent them back to us via the Post Office.

I found Daysy Hill Country Cottages on Agoda as the drive from Melbourne was going to be a long drive so we needed a quite and relaxing place to stay and it was. Nestled in the hills with sheep grazing near by and sounds of wildlife. We got the room with a spa and fireplace and it was perfect after a long day and drive and the restaurants and general store are nearby so it was to sit back have a spa and warm fire with a glass of red and relax, I totally recommend Daysy Hill Country Cottages

This property is right next to Port Campbell. As you'll most likely be in a card in this area, a two minute drive to port campbell and 10-15 to the apostles shouldn't be an issue for most. The rooms are designed in a mid 80's/early 90's country style which might not be everyone's favourite, but the property is relaxing and the rooms function well - you feel warm in the cold months or colder mornings and the beds are great. Except for those annoying shower heads that are fixed to the wall and poor TV quality & size, its hard to really complain. The SPA was a good size and pretty clean.

This place is perfect! Andrew and his family made us feel really welcome. We stayed in a two bedroom cottage (number 2 Gumnut) which was impeccably clean and ideal for a couple and kids. The cottage really has everything you need including a full kitchen, laundry facilities and a glorious deck to sit on and enjoy the sunsets. The layout works really well - kitchen and living upstairs with bedrooms and bathroom etc downstairs.
The property is very well maintained and a really short drive into PC for supplies and beaching. I would highly recommend this place and hopefully will be back one day (it would be great to return in winter to make use of the log fire and electric blankets!). A huge thank you to Andrew for showing my Scottish friends the glories of feeding camels and for the excellent tip regarding the koalas on the Lighthouse road. Much appreciated.

Room Tip: Gumnut Cottage (No 2) was perfect

We travelled with relatives from Seattle who were impressed with the cottage & the surrounds. Clean, very quiet wished we could have stayed longer. Will definitely stay there again but longer to explore the beautiful area.

After a long road trip, we arrived in the late afternoon. The sun was shining through the living room and the view was lovely. I loved the interior--wood floors and ceilings. The space had a nice, lodge style feel. It is clearly very well kept and the owners live on sight. We were welcomed warmly and felt very comfortable. I could have easily stayed a second night.

Lovely cottage with 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, washing machine, log burner - too big for 2 really but is was the only unit available and we were delighted with the space. Stayed 3 nights, wished it had been longer! Lovely to be in fully equipped home after motels and hotels and travelling for 2 weeks. Very nice owners who keep the property in lovely order. We were very happy with the amenities and the log burner as it was a bit chilly and wet at times - lovely after a day sightseeing to come back to the cosy cottage. Excellent location on the GOR for sightseeing, small town with small beach and jetty a few minutes car ride away.

Room Tip: Variety of accommodation, depends on the size of your party
