We dined on a Monday night without a booking. Not many diners in when we arrived so we had a good choice of seating options. Service was attentive and informed.
For entrée the panko crumbed oysters were a real winner. The air dried wagyu with cheese croquettes, beetroot, caramelised onion was well executed but just needed something to counter the bold flavours.
Mains were ordered without side dishes which was just as well as the main serves were generous. The down side was that the neutral flavours of a side dish would have worked well with the mains.
The braised rabbit with orecchiette, wild mushrooms, parmesan and walnut oil was well cooked and full of flavor.
The lamb rump with tzatziki, pickled cabbage, farro and crispy shallots was ordered medium and was cooked perfectly. The dish was a good mix of flavours and textures.
The wine list offered a good range of varieties and pricing.

I'm thinking the locals are familiar with this lively but classy establishment because it's the place to be at weekends. It is colloquially referred to as 'The Pen' and that's where I found myself one weekend in September 2017 when I visited Mandurah. What a great place for a Saturday night, or any night for that matter - chic and sophisticated crowd, lots of atmosphere, attractive staff and a great grub, with a promenade and beer garden right beside the canal. What more could a man (or woman) want? In terms of eats, I'd recommend you try the hot spicy pizza or the soft shell crab tacos; you won't be disappointed. Definitely the highlight of my trip to Western Australia. Already planning my next trip...

Very nice pub indeed. We did not eat here but we did have pre dinner drinks, (quite a few actually). We had a few drinks early afternoon, sat out in the beer garden and returned in the evening for pre dinner drinks. Staff are friendly and helpful and provided us with a taste of the wine before we purchased. Their recommendation was spot on.
Nice music added to the atmosphere and then the dolphins appeared for that added touch of magic. We were nice and relaxed and really enjoyed this pub. We will be back.

Beautiful restaurant with great water views...shame it was cloudy outside. The entree, main meal and dessert were delicious. Great range of meals to choose from. Thanks to Alice for being friendly and making our lunch enjoyable.
