The hostel has got the atmosphere of a nice place with a nice courtyard filled with chairs where to hang on, the music of the hostel arguable choice and a TV. Kitchen, shower and toilet were ok in my part of unit, but the cleaning starts around 8am on average and it is a lot loud and feels like they want you up early even on rainy days where you cant really do much being in Noosa. Rooms are small and somewhat humid maybe because of the climate. There is strict policy NO NOISE after 10pm. Have to say one evening guys above my unit engaged in a (friendly/drunk) fighting which felt like a herd of elephants passing upon and stopped right at the boarder of 10pm. I guess I ve got lucky as there was no one to complain.
A big surprise/minus: there are no lockers at all, inside rooms nor outside, with the staff saying it is completely safe to leave valuables just like this in the rooms. They however offer to keep your valuables at the counter for when they are there (8am to 7pm I assume) and once I ve got to the hostel after 7pm once I had t wait until next morning to pick up my laptop. More information on the working hours provided in advance would be appreciated as I dont read all the walls signs (Plenty there).
Also feels extremely unfriendly (and we are in Australia) you have to leave the premises just after you checked out or before 10am mandatory unless you are willing to pay five more dollars to be able to stay around with your luggage. Presumably because you pay for using toilets and showers when you are already checked out or that was the explanation given to me at the reception. Plus five dollars more for someone to keep an eye on your luggage once again when you ve checked out. Again, free hostel wifi never worked for me, maybe my room was too far form whatever router.
Pluses: if you are after surfing, boards and wet suits rented for free
