We switched from an A/C cottage that was not on the river to a river house, (there was not much water in the river in March). It was a pretty setting with no hot water and fan only, no A/C. Since it was so hot, neither was needed. They refunded us a few bahts when I asked, because this room was cheaper. The restaurant has a nice setting also with decent food. We only had breakfast since there were so many restaurants just down the road with beautiful gardens and great setting. This hotel was considered "in the park" because the entrance was just a few steps away. We did a self hike up to the river that most people pay a guide to go to. It was a little tough to find but we saw a lot of monkeys close up on the way. The highlight of the stay was going to Chiaw Lan Lake that was highly recommended to us, an hour ride away. It was our most expensive tour at 1500 bht but well worth the great adventure and the 11 hour day. The hotel seemed to be able to book anything needed for your travel but we booked our arrangements down the street. All guesthouses seem to work together with the same prices.
