We recently stayed here and upon arrival we noticed that the place seemed empty. No big deal. We arrived right at 4pm and were greeted by the front desk rep who was leaving for the day. She handed us our keys and said that she upgraded us to a pool side room for our anniversary. Funny thing is, we paid for a poolside room when we made our reservation, so this was not what I would consider an upgrade. If you look at their website there is no information talking about an "Off Season". Before we arrived in September, I asked when I made my reservation in June for a menu from the restaurant to have an idea as to what to expect upon arrival. At that point the reservation rep should have told us that the restaurant and bar would be closed during our stay. Upon arrival is when we were told that it was the off season and everything was closed. It would have been nice to know this as there are several other hotels in the area that have full service dining. Lastly, we received a call from the hotel the night before we were to check out (the day before Hurricane Fiona made landfall) to make sure we were checking out on time. They didn't ask if we needed anything, just want to know if we were checking out. I get it, it’s a hurricane but hotels have a duty to take care of their guests. Be upfront with your guests.
