Best beach in NS. Lots of room to move around and play games. Great for walks and quite wide. The boardwalk is currently broken so it is difficult for strollers and wheelchairs to get in. The sand slowly drops away from the beach so it nice for kids. The are no washrooms. Get there early as parking is tight and you can end up walking a distance.
This is my favorite beach in the Halifax area. Sandy (unlike Lawrencetown), gentle waves, nice rocky area with a more secluded sandy beach on the other side. It can get quite busy during the summer, but you never feel like you are on top of anyone else. The only downsides for me are the parking (tiny lot, so I usually park along the road) and all of the off-leash dogs (popular with dog owners, who often do a lousy job of wrangling their dogs).
This is one of nicer beaches and although there is not a lot of parking except on the road it is nice to stop have a picnic and watch the water.
