A group of us spent an amazing four days canoing on the Orange River in Namibia. We needed a stop over night on route back to Cape Town. My family were horrified when I told them I had booked into a small B & B in Kamieskroon rather than in the large town of Springbok.

Anyway my choice proved a good one. Randspar Guest House, owned by Lenie provided us clean, comfortable accommodation at very affordable rates. We found the rooms and bathrooms spacious and enjoyed relaxing in the large dining and lounge areas. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and cooked up an awesome breakfast.

Kamieskroon is a tiny place so don't expect much and bring food for dinner - (we bought excellent cheap fillet steaks from the Spar in Springbok and cooked them on the "braai"). Also bring mosqueto repellant!

The guest house is most suitable for touring groups who wish to take over the whole property doing their own catering, having outside caterers from town or going to local places to eat. The town in which it is situated is on the N7, mainly busy during the short flower season in August and September, so the guest house would often have accommodation - flower season needs booking. We were there during the flower season in a group which took over the whole guest house.
Simple, clean, no frills.

Room tip: In cold weather select a room in the front of the building
