“Delightful tiny hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2012 via mobile

Unfortunately we only had time for 1 night in Ronda! The hotel is well placed, within walking distance of the major attractions and restaurants. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We loved the free drinks and fruit platter in the lobby, a great place to sit and read the guidebooks and pamphlets left out for guests to browse. Spacious room with views.

The owners were very friendly and the hotel well located for exploring the town. The rooms was clean, although I found the bed a little uncomfortable. For breakfast there is coffee, biscuits and fruit available in the foyer of the hotel, but it's not a substantial or sit down affair.

Excellent choice, 2 minute walk from the new bridge in the old part of town, but SO quiet and peaceful. Street parking nearby if you are lucky, but the streets are very narrow, so be warned. We chose to park about a 10 minute walk away in the San ancisco square, but left our bags at the hotel first. The hotel is decorated with style and is very small - I think there are only 4 or five rooms. No breakfast, but tea, coffee fruit and vry tasty biscuits are available to guests in teh morning. Bathroom was spotlessy clean with a powerful shower and shelf space for all of my toiletries. Small roof terrace with a couple of chairs.Would stay here again if we return to Ronda

Room Tip: WE chose a first floor room but there is no lift if this is an issue for you. Downstairs rooms are v...

The previous reviews are accurate. This is a wonderful little place. Not so much a hotel, really, as a bed-and-breakfast that doesn't serve breakfast. Which doesn't matter because there are plenty of good restaurants nearby where you can get a good inexpensive breakfast. The location is perfect, very close to the spectacular bridge which connects the old and new towns, but tucked away around a corner. We were able to park, free, in a nearby narrow street to which the charming proprietor directed us. The hotel is well-appointed, beautifully-kept and efficiently run. It's also a bargain.

While you're in Ronda, visit the bull-ring and museum (even if you think bullfighting is an atrocity, as I do.) Take the hike down to the bottom of the gorge (if you're in good enough shape for it.) Have dinner at the Almocabar restaurant. And check out the 20,000 year old cave paintings at the Cueva de la Pileta..

There are just a few things a hotel needs to achieve excellence - a very good location, clean comfortable rooms, friendly welcoming owners and staff, reasonable prices. Surprising how many places fall down on one or more of these. Hotel Ronda ticks all of the boxes. Very well placed for walking round Ronda; a very clean, attractive looking building - inside and out; very friendly, helpful owners and very good value for money. It has always been the owners' family home - they were born there. Couldn't ask for anything better. Would highly recommend Hotel Ronda - well deserves its no. 1 position.

Ronda isn't a place to stay in for more than a night (or two, if you arrive late before the first night), but in such a place "making the night count" means a lot. Hotel Ronda was a real "bulls-eye" and made the nights count indeed.

The hotel is located smack in the middle of the city, two minutes walking from the old bridge, which divides Ronda to its old part and new part. The location couldn't have been better. It's a small street near everything yet relatively quiet. The place feels like home and lacks most of the usual "hotel-ish things".

The place's owner speaks relatively good English, which really helps. She recommended places to eat, provided a tourist map of the city, and was very helpful in general. There is no breakfast served in the hotel (only tea, coffee and fruit, which are just what we needed), but this only served as an excuse for an amazing local and authentic breakfast recommendation, which made the difference for us.

The room we stayed in was fair-sized (which is quite large in European standards and in places of this size), and while its TV-set seems to be a part of the decoration rather than something to be used (which isn't bad at all, if you ask me), there is more than enough room in the closet, the bed was comfortable enough, there wasn't any shortage of hot water and everything was spotless clean.

If I need to find something negative to say as well, it would be the noise made by the place's outer metal door, which makes some noise, if closed without care.

I All in all the hotel, staff and hospitality fit perfectly in our vacation, and I highly recommend this hotel to all. For Ronda tips and suggestions, feel free to contact me privately.

Room Tip: The place has no elevator, so just in case you have trouble climbing a few stairs - make sure you ge...

There are just one or two problems with quality of sleep at night because a neighbouring building is not being kept up - banging shutters in the wind. This is not the responsibility of these owners, just unfortunate, and may affect your sleep. Really lovely sisters greet you and take care of your every need. Complimentary coffee/tea and use of the computer. Really kind people and well located for visiting Ronda. Not too far to walk even dragging a suitcase from either the bus or train station, but take care on the cobbles!
