We stayed at Sky Beach Club for a week and were not disappointed! The on-site managers, CC and Nick were extremely helpful and answered every question we had even sharing more information about the beautiful island. This was our first time and they made us feel very welcome. The house was beautiful and modern with a spectacular view of the Atlantic. I saw past complaints about water pressure, but we had no problems! They have an onsite restaurant, Pascals and a pool bar with a spectacular bartender Sammy! It is also not far from many good restaurants in governors harbor. We would highly recommend this island and Sky Beach Club! We hope to be back.

The Pro’s first: Very good construction, nice modern well laid out floor plan, very spacious and great views. It was also pretty clean. Good stereo and dish TV. Only one TV, which is the living room. The beach is pretty good here. It is long and the left side is fairly free of debris. Also, the on-site managers are very nice and helpful. The food at Pascale’s is good and Sammy is an extremely personable and nice bartender. Good restaurants in Gov. Harbour and the Friday Fish Fry was fun.

On the downside: It is a bit of drive from the N. Eleuthera airport to the property – around 65 minutes on a paved, but pot holed road with lots of speed bumps.

We were greeted with a “Pool Closed” sign upon arrival. The pool, swim up bar, pool view and restaurant were some of the main reasons we chose to stay here. To say we were very disappointed would be a big understatement. The property manager did work very hard on repairing it and it opened up essentially 3 days later. Apparently, it has a pipe leak underground and they have to fill it constantly with a hose and that barely keeps up. Oh well.

Some other observations:

The snorkeling is pretty mediocre. We checked out several of the coral heads just offshore (primarily to the right). Not a lot of wildlife, but lots of interesting hard structure, soft coral and sea fans.

There are only 4 lounge chairs on the beach and they’re pretty worn out. One old palapa for shade, but the roof has been torn off – so no shade. The little beach hut on top of the dunes was filled with tons of beer bottles and broken glass.

In the villa itself, everything worked except for the water pressure, which was really bad. Not enough to even remotely rinse a dish and it took a while to rinse shampoo out of one’s hair.

The pool at the villa is very small and frankly not that appealing to enter. Jacuzzi is not a Jacuzzi, but rather just a small baby pool. They need to clean a little better as well as the infinity drop off pool on the other side as well.

Roads are really, really worn out from the villa down to the beach and Sky Bar. This place has a lot of potential, but the owners will need to spend some money and also keep things up better at the beach and pool in particular.

In conclusion, we have been to the Bahamas several times - many times to the Exumas and the Abacos, but it was our first trip to Eleuthera. This is our first time in May and it seems that we were in the middle of 3+ week rainy/cloudy spell. We realize the weather in the Bahamas is always a crap shoot, but it certainly was ironic that where we live (Charleston, SC) has been sunny for the last 10+ days. Overall, the beaches that we visited were gorgeous like Twin Coves and French Leave. I’m sure we would have enjoyed the trip a lot more if the sun had been shining more than it did.

We are very sorry about the pool closure. There was a serious leak and we had no choice but to drain the pool on an emergency basis and make the repair. The pool is now repaired and back to normal.

The water pressure problem was due to a clogged filter which was replaced. The water pressure on the property is adequate, but the town water occasionally contains sediment which can quickly clog a filter and result in low water pressure. If this happens, the filter can be changed and the problem fixed immediately if management is notified.

Additional beach chairs are on order and coming soon.

The bottles and glass from that event were removed.

The house is huge, spacious, modern and beautiful. The villa we stayed in had beautiful views, spacious rooms, luxury appliances and fixtures, and a great layout. The only nit picky downsides were the outside pool furniture and cushions were really ratty, old and dirty, so we refrained from using them, there is ZERO water pressure, there weren't any extra blankets or linens, needed a bucket of water by the front door to rinse your feet of sand before going inside, a lot of the hardware in the bathroom is broken and needs to be replaced, and the landscaping (or lack there of) was just plain ugly.

We came to Sky Beach Club for some relaxation in the pool and swim up bar and weren't disappointed! The only hot tub was a gem and a rare find in the Bahamas. We had a large group of multiple families and many children and Sammy and his staff made us feel welcome and took great care of us. Definitely recommend a stop here during a visit to Eleuthera.

We spent our honeymoon here, and it was perfect for the occasion. It's secluded, quiet, and a lovely ocean-side location. The property manager, CC, went out of her way to make it as enjoyable as possible - she was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in every way. While they are villas, we felt as if we'd found the perfect hotel for those who prefer off the beaten path. While the road coming in could use some upgrading (actually just some paving), the pool bungalows where we stayed were beautifully designed and well-maintained. The restaurant, Pascal's - run by different management - was less impressive, with average food and indifferent service, though Sammy the bartender is everyone's favorite with good reason! Location near Governor's Harbour and its airport is ideal. Would recommend highly.
