We stayed at the Bowl Inn for one night. The room and bathroom were finished to a high standard much more modern than the the pub downstairs. The bed was ever so comfy and we found our room and bathroom to be clean and well kept. The hallway and stairs could really have done with a hoover but absolutely no complaints about the room itself. The breakfast was pleasant and the surrounding area is beautiful. I would recommend the room for comfort, cleanliness and style the breakfast won't blow you away but will do the job! Maybe a little bit pricey considering location is so remote but I have no regrets about our visit at all.

We stayed at the Bowl in for three nights. The location of the Inn was great, very rural en between several fields and meadows. The pub is like it should be, nice staff, real ales etc. Dinner was splendid and more then enough. The rooms are spacious and well equipped as wel as the bathrooms. Breakfast was top and enough to survive a day.

We spent five nights at The Bowl Inn.
The room was small but nice, the bathroom almost new. So what's wrong?
Wifi was not working at 90%, never in the room area and only from time to time in the Bar-Restaurant area.
For 6 days no vacuum cleaner on the carpet, no change of bedsheets, no change of bath towels, no cleaning of handbasin, bathtub. The attached picture was taken after the "passage" of the room maid.
We had dinner the first night. We ordered one rump-steak and one beef fillet both medium done. The fillet was overcooked. I was surprised as grilled meat was supposed to be the house's pride. Then I realized that the filled was overcooked for the purpose to cover its bad stink of ammonia.
UNBELIEVABLE. I called the waiter and told her to bring it back to kitchen and ask Chef opinion. She came back in a couple of minutes apologizing and offering a new steak which was delivered in a few minutes. It was a rump steak as probably the entire fillet was gone bad. The breakfast was included in the room cost (100GBP/Day) We are not use to eat much in the morning, we usually have some fruit and yogurt, tea and coffee with toasts. We are simple people. But their buffet was as simple as ridiculous: a few green apples (as hard as stones), low fat yogurt strawberry (no other choice) some jams and some cereals. See picture. The Manager have no excuse. It is not my duty to make him aware the Chef gives out gone bad meat. It is not my duty to inform him the room maid is a lazybones.

Lovely bedroom with new shower. Breakfast good value too. The location was good for visiting Lenham Village and other places up on the Downs. Felt like you were in the middle of the country. We had a friendly greeting and the Manageress took time explaining how we could get in after hours. Staff very friendly and pleasant.

We stayed here last night before traveling from Dover today. This fantastic pub is such a find.

We stayed in the suite with a sofa bed for our children. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, complete with its own little terrace garden, stunning bathroom and fantastic coffee machine.

The pub itself provided good quality food, great kids menu, lovely garden, excellent beers and good wine menu.

The staff really shine out though. Everyone was charming and helpful and could not do enough for us, even with two loud children in tow. (Rachel was particularly kind.)

Thank you for a super start to our holiday!
