I booked this hotel for a weekend break with my husband, based on reviews here, and wasn't disappointed.
If you are looking for high end luxury, this is not the hotel for you (I personally think you can find that in any city in the world), but if you want authentic charm, great location and friendly staff, I recommend this hotel. We had no complaints.
Karlovy Vary itself is a beautiful town. There were some street renovations going on when we were there, but this is common in Europe (everything is so old!) and especially the Czech Republic where they are fixing the things that fell into disrepair during Communism. Beautiful walks in the countryside around, the little rail car that goes up the hill is just 2 minutes away and worth the trip. Good stores for fashion and shopping too as they cater to wealthy Russians and Germans.

All in all a wonderful romantic break.

Pros:
- Great location
- Authentic charm
- Easy to find
- Parking right outside front of hotel
- Friendly English speaking staff (which considering the main languages here are Czech, German and Russian is no small feat! A few friendly Czech words like hello, thank-you, please and goodbye goes a long way!)
- I liked that you could drink the local "healing" water at breakfast!
Cons:
- doesn't have it's own spa facilities if that is what you are looking for, but the staff will book at any of the facilities in the town
- Had 2 twin mattresses on the bed in our room, not sure if this is true of all rooms (this is common in the Czech Republic, but I personally prefer a queen or king mattress)
- The breakfast area is in an atrium so we could hear people in the morning from our room, but this was not a major issue and otherwise the hotel is very quiet, even in August
- not a lot of choice on the menu for vegetarians, though the staff were very helpful in their attempts to accommodate me

This is one of the few family owned and operated hotels in Karlsbad. This shows in the taste that went into the reconstruction and the decoration of the premises, the attention to detail, and the quality of the service (in a country where service is in general unfriendly). Rooms are good, breakfeast is excellent, coffee is very good, the breakfeast room is beautiful. The restaurant is one of the best in Karlsbad and is dedicated to high level Bohemian cuisine, which is surprsisingly hard to find in today's Czech Republic.

We stayed at the Hotel Embassy for one night and had a good experience. The hotel staff was great and treated us well. We had to leave the hotel before the breakfast buffet opened, so the concierge arranged an early breakfast in the hotel's sitting room. It was a very nice gesture and it showed just how much the hotel staff took care of it's guests. Our only complaint was that the hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. But, other than that, we had a nice stay and we'd recommend the Hotel Embassy to others going to Karlovy Vary.

Very friendly hotel, great service. Rooms are antique funished. All staff were very friendly. Large comfortable and clean room. They deserve the 4 star rating they have. English overall are good. But remember english is their second language so they may need extra explaining. Personal service as possibly the owner even loan us their Karlovy Vary cup to taste the hot springs. The restaurant's food was excellent and service was very good too. Often checking from our server and others working in the hotel. Breakfast was very good also. The only breakfast we had on this trip that the eggs was made to order. Too bad they don't have their own spa as the spa they have connection with almost ruined the experience. At the end all is well. The spa's service is good but not great.

I stayed here as part of my honeymoon. This certainly is a very nice hotel. Excellent position overlooking the river in probably the most idealic spot in town- a stones throw away from the major attractions. We were warmly greeted by reception staff. The room was excellent- large, spacious, clean and full of character. The hotel resturaunt was very nice, and very popular. Breakfast was excellent, served in front of an open fireplace. The only downside was that this was our honeymoon and there was nothing extra which I would have thought appropriate. This hotel was also certainly not cheap. I would certainly stay at this hotel again.

read the glowing reviews in trip advisor and booked the hotel for an overnight side trip on the way to Prague. Lovely accomodations in a very special 19th century spa town.
the location is perfect overlooking a river and views of the opposite ornate buildings. The hotel did everything to make it memorable and very relaxing. Rooms are very comfortable, and attractive ,large marble baths, good beds, excellent linens, and a healthy breakfast buffet.
The most charming idea was that they have used one side of the bridge crossing the river into an outdoor restaurant. Every seat has a view and on a warm night it is always cool and on a cool night they have soft blankets to wrap around you.
A family run hotel that will arrange golf for you at reduced green fees at a 100 year old golf course and are very friendly and accomodating.
