After walking past this restaurant several times during our trip to Prague, we decided to book a table for Friday night, our last evening in the city. From the outside it looks cosy, authentic and a really lovely spot. However, this wasn't the same experience inside. Our food was very nice, but it wasn't the best we had out there by any means. I ordered the steak which was very small. It was nicely cooked, but I ordered chips with it and they were an additional cost, so if you just order a steak...you just get steak. We asked for tap water and they said that only bottled water was offered. This was also an expensive extra. One waiter was very sweet, but our main waiter was rude and unfriendly. When we asked for the bill, he was very demanding about the tip he expected (which was extortionate and more than the recommended 10%). We paid about 1800czk for our meal, which was about 3 times more than we were spending in other restaurants, and the experience was fairly disappointing. Despite being a wonderful looking restaurant, the reality unfortunately didn't match up. I wouldn't go back.

Food was Bland.
Small Portions.
Overpriced.
Beer was double the cost.
£3 for water! (didn't say this when we ordered it)
Extra £1.5 for Mashed potato (didn't say this when we ordered)
When we payed via card, he automatically used contactless, and this used their own conversion rate. Which was terrible, costing us an extra £4.

Also... The music selection is very very weird, at first we laughed. But after some time it was quite annoying. American folk singers singing about their bad fishing trips was not our idea of romantic.

Onion soup, (which was soup of the day), was very good however, at only £2.5 it was good value.

We do not recommend this restaurant primarily because the food is bland and atmosphere was bad and made much worse by music. Additionally we find the additional charges and use of their own exchange rates without asking is practically a scam. There are better places to eat.

Visited this restaurant over Easter. Location is just down the hill from the castle. place was warm and inviting and menu had good choices for all. Ideal choice for either family or couples, not noisy, good quality and not expensive.

This is a cosy and well run restaurant on a busy tourist strip. It had a certain old fashioned charm, with waiters in uniform and memorabilia hanging from the walls.
The staff spoke perfect English and German and were friendly and efficient. The menu is extensive and has all the Czech favourites. Reasonably priced for the area with some lunch specials. Desert was particularly good!
