With awesome panoramic views of the castle, bridges and city, Letna Park was a great detour and worth the walk up the hills. Just the otherside of the river, it takes 20 minutes to walk to the top but you wont regret it.
Also home to the metronome, the monument to the communist era that replaced the Stalin one.
Even better on a sunny day!!

Doesn't take long at all from the city (just over the river) so is well with going to. The walk up is not strenuous at all and despite there not being a huge amount to do in the park it is very pleasant to walk around.

The beer garden at the top is the real winner. Good views and good (+ cheap) beer - what is better than that?!

beautiful park, amazing views. Not many amenities, except for a beer garden, but really worth visiting.

Cool park just up the hill from downtown, a must go for fantastic views and photos. But mind you, it's popular by tourist groups on the beerbikes (horrendous practice biking and drinking, residents hate it). It is destroying the place.

We visited the Letna Park during a two night stay in Prague in March. It is well worth visiting Letna Park if you want to take some excellent pictures overlooking Prague. Unfortunately, there are a lot of steps to climb if you visit this park from the end over-looking the Vltava River. However, you can catch the tram from Vltavska metro station and you can get off on Milady Horakove right next to the Generali Arena which is the Sparta Prague football stadium. From there you can walk across the park which is really flat until you reach the steps. You can then take your pictures and make you way down the steps back into the city or go back the way you came and jump back onto a tram. I don’t really understand why, but there is a large Metronome at the top of the stairs perched on a marble base where a statue of Stalin used to stand. The views of the city are amazing from up there and it’s well worth the trip out of the city centre. There is also cast iron Pavilion up there built in 1891 a bit further along and also a carousel which apparently is the oldest in Europe. Unfortunately, we never got round to seeing those! It was cold and covered with snow when we visited the park but we really enjoyed it! I guess the only negative about this attraction is the amount of graffiti. It’s everywhere! Where ever there’s a wall, there’s graffiti on it! To be honest, it looks a real mess and the ‘local yobs’ have really destroyed the beauty of this park which is rich in history. Apart from the graffiti, it’s a great place to visit and take pictures!......and it’s free!
