Just back from a stay at the Hilton, with mostly good things to say about the stay. Our rate was very good having booked the 'January sale' offer, back in well, January(!).

The staff we encountered were generally very friendly so big thumbs up for that. The breakfasts were excellent, included in our room rate, so very good value. It's a massive area they use for breakfast but there are loads of staff buzzing about keeping everything running smoothly. We also used Cloud 9, the bar on the top of the hotel. Unfortunately the terrace wasn't open, the reason being the chance of rain, despite that seeming fairly unlikely. Anyhow, spent an enjoyable couple of hours in the lovely comfy chairs by the window, again good service from the guys in the bar.

The rooms are a great size, no doubt but agree with a previous poster that they are a little dated.

My main grumbles would be the small old TV in the corner of the room - come on get some flat screens in!

The biggest bugbear though in a so called luxury hotel - a sub standard shower. Really low pressure, a 5 star should have a rainforest shower without doubt. Towels could be a little better quality as well.

We found the location of the hotel pretty good, could stroll along the river to town, or more directly it was about 15 minutes walk to the Opera House, or a couple of metro stops into town.

Would stay here again if we got as good a rate as this time, but if money was no object, would have to be the Aria in Mala Strana.

Entering the hotel gave me the idea of entering a cruise ship. Different (good) restaurants, a pool area, shops... it was all there. In comparisson to the wealth of the hall and it's commodities I thought the rooms were a bit less 5 star worthy. Though comfortable, it was a small room with a dated furnishing.
Close to the centre of Prague, it's worth the stay

Many other comments highlighted the upgrades treatment to Hilton Honors members. I am a HH but my wife and I did not receive that. On the plus side, since traveling by overnight train this was the first time during our trip that the we arrived on time. Consequently we got into the Prague Hilton at around 5.30 am which mean many hours before check-in time. As expected, the overnight clerk told us she could not checked us in so we had to stay on a chair in the lobby. Around 6am, I noticed when the front desk arrived and asked about our situation and without a doubt he approved to check us in. Believe me, this manager’s decision is worth many other stays at Hilton Hotels. They provided a modern room (noticeable above US Hilton standard). Prague is a wonderful city but the hotel’s location is somehow far from the main attractions if you do not like to walk or travel by public transportation. As always, other charges in Hilton hotels like telephone, internet, room service even restaurants are mostly affordable by business and Japanese or Arabian guests.

We stayed here between Christmas and New Year eve. The room was a large, clean and well presented.

The location is good with a 2 minute walk to the Metro line through the shopping arcade. Old Town is around 15 minutes walking away.

The gym and pool are very good, although watch out for the people walking around naked by the pool and sauna.

Not bad, but further away from the old town than advertised. Quite close to the metro though. Nothing to complain about. Solid business hotel
