“Excellent value for money, even though a little dated”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2011

Spent 4 nights at this hotel for our 25th wedding anniversary. Does not look great on the outside, and there is no fancy entrance lobby. Other than that, staff were very helpful and we were given a massive suite comprising of a very large bedroom, an adjoining hall with kitchenette fully kitted, and bathroom. The decor was dated although maintained clean. With a little redecoration, this hotel could easily be worthy of 5* standard. Shower curtain was missing in the bathroom and the bath tub was on the small size. Location was great for the historic sightseeing and if you want a bit of quiet instead of the Old Town area, but everything was within walking distance. Overall, highly recommended and definitely good value for money.

We stayed in Appia Residences for our first trip to Prague and were extremely pleased with our choice! Because it was our 10th wedding anniversary I requested a lovely room when booking & when we got there we had actually been given a suite. It was fantastic - roomy, bright, clean and well equipped. The only downside was there were no hotel robes or slippers as stated on the website and I hadn't packed either because we were expecting them. Luckily we didn't really require them as the rooms were lovely and warm.
The staff were friendly and helpful as stated in previous reviews and the breakfasts were marvellous! So much choice at the self service buffet there must be something to suit everyone!
The location of the hotel was great, very close to all the tourist hot spots yet far enough away to be really quiet. We think Mala Strana is a much nicer area to stay in than the Old Town that everyone seems to recommend!
Finally the hotel was extremely good value. We would certainly recommend it to all our friends and family and will definitely book again when we return to Prague in the future.

Quiet and easily accessible location. Never used any transport from the hotel to visit the places of tourist attraction.
Professional and friendly personnel.
Spacious, bright and clean room, nice terrace, large bathroom (at least our room was so).
OK breakfast -> the service and quality of food were very good; the selection of food and drinks could be more varied.

We booked the Appia Residences for 4 nights and it was our wedding weekend travel. Everything was wonderful-from the very beginning till the end of our stay in this hotel. We arrived a bit earlier than we expected, but the room was already prepared and waiting for us-so there was no issue to leave our baggage, take a shower and enjoy terrific Old City and St.Vitus cathedral. It's just 2 minutes walk from the hotel and you can start your city tour from the hotel easily.
The most popular city sightseeing- The Charles Bridge is 3 minutes walk from the hotel door. OldTown square is 5 minutes from the hotel-so the location of the place is perfect for those who like walking on foot to see all sight-seeings-you should not use public transport and it's a kind of economy thing for your journey.
As for the room itself and the staff-the number was perfectly cleaned and had 2 rooms-one with sofa and 2 armchairs and second one with big bed-which was, as you understand, the most important thing to us:) The staff cleaned room everyday and changed towels also. The was also a kettle so you can make some tea/coffee in the room. I was a bit afraid about the bathroom, since there was no shower curtain, but I was really surprised cause the water didn't spill to much to the floor-it was dry as they also have a flour heating system.
As for breakfast- I don't think that anybody could stay hungry after the breakfast:you can find various sausages, cheese, bread and other. They usually offer you whether you want to drink tea or coffee, so there are no annoying noisy automatic coffee machines.
All and all-it's great place to have all famous sigh-seeings around and near to access(Petrin hill as well). friendly staff, well-furnished room and great price. I would love to stay there for the next time when we visit Prague.
P.S. We didn't use parking, so there is no much to tell about it, but as I know a lot of tourists do use it and it's a bit expensive, but there is no other place, since it's the center of the city and they not used to park their cars in the street-you might not find it in the morning standing in the place where you've left it.

This hotel is just so amazing! We were a bit afraid not to have done a good choice, but we were wrong! Room was perfect, big and very clean. Very confortable and well heated. We did not suffer any cold!! They change the sheets every day and they clean the room every day..it looked like nobody has stayed in!
Location is good also..if you come by plane as we did is a bit long to reach it but they have good metro and tram service! It's located in the old city and you can sleep so well, no noise at all!!Very quiet and nice area!!
What else?? Breakfast.. you can find salted things more than the sweet ones.. but it is good! they have excellent bread..maybe not so perfect for italians seeing that we like cappuccino and brioches in the morning!
Staff at the reception is also nice: they are helpful and available to solve any doubt we had and they speak good english, so it was easy to understand each other!!
I suggest this Hotel to everyone wants to have a nice time in Prague!

Room Tip: We chose deluxe room with garden view.

We were a German couple and two American couples visiting Prague together. This wonderful place is almost like a B&B but with privacy like a hotel. Breakfast in the "attic" was delicious and included scrambled eggs and sausage, along with the usual choices. The rooms are all different; ours had a sitting room, bedroom, huge marble bathroom, refrigerator and even a clothes washer! It was great. All the staff were friendly and extremely helpful, especially Jana, who just couldn't do enough for us. They even brought in a drying rack to hang our clothes after we washed them. All the front desk people were English speaking and seemed to enjoy their work. There is a lovely little garden and the location is very quiet even though it is an easy walk to all the "action." The location is near Charles Bridge and St. Nicholas Church (I think they call it the Lesser Quarter area.) We loved Prague, although we almost walked our legs right off! We'd go back in a minute, and when we do we will absolutely stay at Appia Residences. This is first choice for everyone in our group! (The morning church bells on the hill were just far enough away to be faintly heard - perfect.)

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 201A and highly recommend it! It is a suite, and was spotless. We used the cloth...
