Stayed there for three nights on our Europe trip. Close to the old town of Prague that is very beautiful. Found that the staff were as friendly as you can get in prague terms I suppose. No cold aircon in the building but the basement was okay for a little bit of coolness. No lift to upstairs. Enjoyed my stay none the less as Prague is the most beautiful place I've ever been.

Nice hostel, friendly staff and I really liked the idea of a free sandwich in the morning! Just like the cereal and tea/coffee. The shower facilities were limited but it didn't bother me that much. We slept in a dorm with view on the entrance which was a little bit loud during the night. Overall, I would recommend this hostel if you can stand a little bit of noise since the location is perfect!

We chose this hostel because of good reviews and the great price. It was clean (although not the most modern) and staff were always extremely helpful. The 24hr reception offered lots of items for free or a deposit. It was hidden in the Old Town, giving a fantastic location with proximity to Old Town Square for walking tours, but still nice and quiet. Free breakfast (8-10am) was a bonus - it was a sandwich, cereal and drinks, so don't expect a huge spread, but it still offered great value for money. Bathrooms were shared between a few bunk rooms but we didn't experience any issues with queues, probably because the schedules of those in Prague would vary a lot. The beds were comfortable although had slightly thin mattresses and the bunks moved a bit as you did, but I still got a good night's sleep. Overall a great choice for a no-frills base to explore Prague on a budget!

I generally just prioritise location when it comes to booking hostels, and you can't get much better than Prague Tyn. it's 5-minute-walking-distance away from old square and other bars/restaurants around the area.

In terms of its facilities, pretty standard hostel really. Kitchen is okay equipped, nothing fancy but you can definitely cook a pasta meal there. Breakfast consists of some cereal and a sandwich but you're in Prague so you may as well find some cheap street food/cook yourself.

Rooms are pretty standard - I stayed in an 8 bed dorm and the bed was reasonably comfortable and their is sufficient plugs close to beds.

Traveled with as a group of 8 friends. We requested to be put into the same 8-bed dorm which they did. The hostel had very poorly maintained rooms, the bed that i rested on had a huge indentation (depression) where the mattress was at, making my sleep rather uncomfortable. Secondly, the heating for the rooms was pathetic, most of us had to sleep with jackets on as it got pretty cold into the night. Also the "Free Breakfast" was just a sandwich which you get from the reception (if it hasn't run out already), and a bunch of cereals to choose from.
Location wise it was pretty good as it was very close to old town square, however i would not stay here again the next time im in prague.

We stayed for 3 nights, hostel was generally clean but atmosphere wasn't great. Free walking tour suggested by the hostel was well worth doing. However, on our final night a complete stranger came into the hostel and told the receptionist he was staying in our room number, without thinking to check the receptionist let him into our room and luckily he collapsed on the floor. However he could've easily taken any valuables he saw. The receptionist later was very apologetic but nothing more was done. Ridiculous.

In terms of location it's great. 6 of us stayed in a room for two nights, we payed €15 each for a deposit on arrival. The room was extremely small on the third floor, there was one bathroom and shower shared between the entire floor. The plugs in the room were broken and we shared two plugs between the six of us. When leaving the guy at reception checked the room and wanted to take 15€ off the deposit because he spotted a tobacco pouch in the bin and accused us of smoking in the room (which we certainly didn't). Natasha at reception was much nicer, she was helpful to us with tourist spots and what's close to us and made an effort to fix the problems we had. I wouldn't stay here again, queues for the showers made it difficult for us to get out in the morning. The location is the only positive thing. Also the "free breakfast" advertised, is coco pops and cheese and egg sandwiches.
