As other reviewers say, the location is absolutely superb, no need to repeat this. So the hotel is worth visiting just for this single reason, regardless the shortfalls that you shall experience there.

We had the two room apartment, with the sea view and the balcony, great thing.
It was to be luxurious, but:
the carpet was dirty in both rooms (not just tired, but with many huge stains);
the bath and shower (of cheap quality) plugged, water pouring on the floor;
no soap bar on the washbasin, we had to ask for one;
the double bed disappointingly narrow (160 cm I think), although there is enough space for a real king size;
the mattress very, very hard.

The restaurant is nice and stylish. The service in the restaurant a bit unprofessional. The food generally good, excellent red wine (Vitaran Crianza). Home made bread in the breakfast buffet, nice touch.

The front desk understaffed, just one lady. We had to wait some 15 minutes in a line to check-in, while she was hidden in next room talking to someone over the phone about booking options.

All in all, you would expect less faults in a place which claims to be the luxurious five star hotel and is five star priced...
Still, the location....

I have been there one night. The hotel is quite nice, view in your room to the beach is extraordinary. Staff is quite nice. Food also is very good. Some of soups we had were fantastów. The hotel is German Style it is still quite old looking. The parking solution is not the Best especially when you check in and check out.

Great Location, right at the beach with beautiful view from balcony and restaurant. Old hotel/ building. Inside somewhat dated, old furniture making noises, average food, service was average. Other than location, would normally not recommend.

Location by the beach is fabulous and is the best thing about this property. Second best thing is the food in the hotel' restaurant. All dishes served in the restaurant are very tasty and prepared from fresh produce. Breakfast is lovely. Complements to the Chef and restaurant staff. Rooms are nice but looking tired and in need of refurbishment. The daily cleaning service is poor and needs immediate improvement. My room was not dusted for days, carpet vacuumed only in the middle and bathroom floor was not moped. In stead the room was always very well sprayed with air freshener! The biggest problem however is lack of elevator.The hotel is an old ( 3 high floors) castle with plenty of high stairs difficult to claim specially while caring luggage etc. It is very tiring and difficult to claim the stairs daily for anyone but specially for elderly guests and guests with disabilities; at times near to impossible. In this era an elevator is a must, not to say that this is a discrimination against handicapped and wheelchair bound people who can only reach safely as far as hotel restaurant. Even though this is most likely listed building surly it must be a way of incorporating an elevator which would not obstruct the castle character. From my observation large proportion of hotel guests are middle age to elderly. Additionally hotel is opened all year around and many elderly guest would choose to visit off season which is a cheaper option. It would also be a huge help for the hotel staff. Manual handling regulations as part of health and safety at work requirement are not existing as staff carry everything up and down several times a day. I sincerely hope that the hotel management can do something about that.

Room tip: Room with direct sea view and balcony is a must.

Beautiful place, we stayed in room 334 on the 3ed floor and it has a beautiful small balcony with an amazing Seaview. The hotel needs some refurbishment and work to make it charming and worth the location and the premises! Restaurant needs to be redecorated, my room toilet was a disaster, i couldn't shower as the bathtub was under the low ceiling roof. I am not sure who did the decoration of the toilet and why he did it this way! Overall it was a good experience.
