If you see all the pictures on their website and other sites, there is no pic on the room we got - its not "what u see is what u get". And for the breakfast! i got better at home, there was dry bread and buns, hard packs of butter that could not be used without u had to threw the bread away. there was roomtemp milk all day, no matter if u where there 8 am (when they opened or not). Never looked like the pics, no tomatoes and so on, And i never been to a hostel where u have to do your own dishes.

Momotown is a good choice - great location, clean rooms and bathrooms (but pity there are no private ones) but first of all, very very helpful and nice staff. They let us in emergency, at 5 am :-) and were very kind during all our 4 night stay. Breakfast is nice, self-service, you can make your sandwiches or have cereal - until noon, which is great for long sleep lovers.
They have pleasant lounge to relax as well. If you don't mind bunk beds and common bathrooms you will enjoy it.

If you are looking for a no frills hostel near the old Jewish are this is a great choice. Staff was supper helpfull and the place was very clean. The room was a few blocks away from the office which was a bit of a pain but ok. Would be nice if they had intenet in the rooms. I would go back again!

I have stayed at this hostel about 4 times over the course of about 6 years.
It used to be a great place... well, it's still a great location in Kazimiersz, but the prices have been jacked up, and they no longer include free breakfast. If you stay in a double, like we did this last time, the breakfast is a bag lunch with a sandwich... not the old continental breakfast spread they used to have. Also, our double was SUPER dusty and a little run down, plus the walls are cardboard-thin, so you can here your neighbors blow kisses in the other room. When we were there, they were rennovating the unit next door starting at 7:30 AM and management were not helpful about the noise complaints or respecting that we were paying guests. Sort of a "nothing I can do" attitude. The girls behind the front desk were very nice though.

The hostel was very clean. We got given a bunk bed each and were also allocated locker with padlock. For breakfast we ordered from a choice of sandwiches the night before and there was also cereal, tea and coffee. There was cooking facilities as well as use of the laundry if required.
The hostel is situated in Kazimeirez. Just across the road slightly towards the right is a suare with restaurants and bars such as Buena Vista (Cuban Restaurant) and Alchemia. Also as you come out of the hostel if you cross over and walk leftwards and cut through one of the last side streets is Szeroka Street which has quite a few restaurants prdominantly Jewish themed such as Noah's Ark and Alef.
The hostel is about a 15minute walk to the main square Rynek Glowny or a short tram ride if feeling very tired. Going in the opposite direction the hostel is about 10-15mins walk from The old ghetto square that has big metal chairs in and also the Pharmacy museum.

  • Liked — Chilled out atmosphere and location
  • Disliked — Nothing really.

I went to Krakow for four nights with friends and we booked a three bed room (we were actually given a bunk-bed each).

The hostel comprises the following.
1) Very clean rooms/ kitchen/ bathrooms.
2) Comfortable beds.
3) Good powerful showers.
4) Breakfast (consisting of bread, rolls, cheese, jam, cereal, coffee & tea).
5) Free internet access.
6) Free lockers (in room).
7) Free towels.

In summary, Momotown is a great place to stay
if you're looking for simple, clean accommodation in a great location (Kazimierz is the old Jewish Quarter and has some great restaurants/ bars). The staff are also very helpful and I would definitely stay here again!

  • Liked — very clean
  • Disliked — curtain a little bit thin (this is a personal gripe I have in most places I stay)

I have stayed in any hostels, and many hotels that should be downgraded to hostels! and momotown was by far the best. It is one of the pricier hostels in krakow, but for an extra pound per person per night its well worth it. Its quiet, never had any trouble sleeping, and it is situated ina great area, only 10 mins from main centre of krakow, and the surrounding area is full with good bars, cafes and restaurants. Staff were attentive and helpful ad we couldnt have asked for more.

  • Liked — spacious room and great communal space; living room, kitchen
  • Disliked — only one bathroom in hostel-means going up and downstairs after showering etc.
  • Tips/Secrets — prices for drinks especially are pretty standard-travel away from centre rule doesnt really apply so dont waste energy searching. Walking round the planty is a must (garden strip around old centre), and it is romantic and safe at night too.
