About a 15 minute walk from downtown or a 15 minute tram ride from the main railways station, Hotel Columbus is a nice place to stay. It is right at the North-Eastern corner of the old Jewish quarter of Kazimierz, a very lively district.
Reception was friendly, efficient and helpful for a restaurant reservation.
The room and bathroom were pleasant, although not very large, scrupulously clean and well kept.
Breakfast deserves a special mention, it is generous with high quality products. The scrambled eggs are made with real eggs, pretty rare these days. Bread and sausages were local and delicious.
The only caveat is street noise, hence only 4 stars for the rating. We had a streetside room, first floor, and the soundproofing was not very good. Try for a room onto the courtyard if you are a light sleeper.
Good value for money in overpriced Krakow.More
