I guess you could describe Karpacz as a Romerbad of the Karkonosze (Riesengebirge) national park, but it still sport some good ole' socialist infrastructure and that nice patine only socialism was able to produce on the pre-war buildings (i.e. unattended decay). However, in these days, it is all a part of the charm.
Lesny dwor, however, is fast forgetting the good old times. It is quite modern, quite well looked after and the restaurant is very decent. The rooms are nice and clean and - above all - the staff is super nice. All in all, it was a nice (if working) short stay.
