Unique building and rooms, nicely furnished, very good location. But on the whole, a disappointment -- far from a 5-star standard:
The reception is in the "basement", one floor down from the entrance. You have to log your luggage down the stairs (or use the wheelchair lift); there's no-one around the entrance to receive you, take care of your luggage or tell you that the reception is in the basement (one can only guess, since there is no other entrance).
Two young men at the reception desk were friendly, but not too attentive. Their English was sufficient. Again, there is no-one to show you to your room or deal with your luggage.
In order to get to my room, I had to traverse the "restaurant": a bistro-type place, perhaps 7 tables, in the basement, no natural light and very little artificial light. Around the kitchen door and into the corridor of the rooms, it smelled very strongly of fish (it was Friday). The next day, the smells of cooking came all the way into my room (the door between the restaurant and the corridor with the rooms is left open all the time).
The key card to the room didn't work. I had to go all the way back to the reception. The receptionist programmed it again -- no excuse, no explanation.
The room was very nice (red-brick vaults as ceiling, very nice and comfortable furniture), but "underground": the window-door led to a small "patio". The view from the room through the door was onto the opposite wall (hence, very little natural light in the room) with 3 windows giving an open view to the "gym"; so all I could see from the window of my room was people working out.
Since there was little natural light in the room, one had to keep the lamps on all the time; they didn't give much light either so one had to turn ALL of them on in order to be able to read. But there was no central light switch around the bed, so at night one had to go around and turn off all the lights individually.
The air-conditioning didn't work: the room temperature was much too warm for sleeping. The reception was friendly, but unhelpful about it: after 2 complaints, nothing changed. There was no way to reduce the temperature of 23 C: whatever one did to the AC panel, the temp. refused to go down. Since the room had a door rather than a window, it was impossible to leave that open at night to get some relief. After 2 days of unsuccessful tampering with the AC, however, I discovered the secret and made it work (the reception still doesn't know that secret).
Internet access worked well by cable, but the wifi connection didn't work (neither on notebook nor on smartphone). I complained about it and the reception said they would have someone check, but nothing happened. The alternative explanation they gave was that the wifi problems were due to the construction of the building (thick old walls ...) -- that was not at all convincing.
In the "restaurant", the young women on duty (always only one at a time) were friendly, but not very professional. They could say standard sentences in English, but not much else (no German at all, though most clients seemed to be German). The music in the restaurant was unbearable -- and the waitress very reluctant to turn it down (and she refused to turn it off). There was also a TV running at all times above the counter, but the sound was mercifully turned off most of the time. The waitress seemed to be the only person on duty -- there was no manager to be seen anywhere, ever.
There wasn't much choice on the menu, but since there were so few customers that was understandable. All the food I ordered, on several occasions, was tasty and well done -- but in no way particularly remarkable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room "above ground", and where the wifi works.

Stayed in many hotels as part of travelling with work, in many cities. This hotel is great value and very classy. The inhouse restaurant is good, sauna good. The fitness room is a little limited, good machines but limited by free weights room. Close to the main square, 10 min walk. 5 mins from the designer shopping centre. I really would recommend this place to anyone. Out of the 4 Wroclaw hotels I have stayed in, easily the best.

Loved it.

-Location: Perfect. City center but quiet.
-Staff: Extraordinarily helpful. Fluent in several languages.
-Hotel: Gorgeous and sympathetically restored from a much older building
-Rooms: Lovely & palatial with jacuzzis and quality soaps/gels/shampoo/conditioner. Sitting room with big screen tv and big screen tv across from bed. Free cable channels in at least 5 or 6 languages including films. Really fantastic.
Cost: Spent one night in London for the price of two nights at The Granary. Eceptional value.

One small downside: Couldn't change the heat. It was very warm in the room (25 degrees, I think) and neither I, nor my husband, nor the staff could do anything about it. we eventually just opened the terrace window.

Room Tip: I think all of the rooms are suites.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in last 12 months. The building is very nice, rooms are excellent, especially the ones on the 2nd floor - they have a small conference room on the upper level!

It is a bit difficult to find the hotel. I am not a new comer to Wroclaw, yet finding the location has taken me some time. Parking is an issue as there are only few places avialable within the building, the rest of the cars are parked outside.

Restaurant is not really something you would like to write home about. Limited choice for breakfast and too few places in rush hours. Well - you can be offered to eat in a conference room adjacent to the restaurant...

Arcitecture is definitely what diferentiats this hotel from others. Mixture of old briks and modern technical solutions - made me smile with pleasure.

Room Tip: Go for 2nd floor rooms!

The Hotel is on the mennicza street very near to Rynek (around 5 minutes walk). The breakfast includes cornflakes milk fruits and pasteries for vegetarians. The rooms are quite spacious and well organised. It is a nice quite and calm place to stay.
