This is a very spacious and sophisticated apartment on so many levels. Attractive and well designed and sleekly modern. The kitchen is gorgeous, the bathrooms no less so and the living and dining areas meld seamlessly. There is an abundance of cupboard space so artlessly constructed that it becomes a uniform part of the decor. The dark grey, concrete and wood interior reflects the" smart home" ambiance. On a grand scale this apartment would be faultless. On a smaller scale it fails. And I make note of the following in an attempt to advise not criticise.
There are no wall holders for the toilet rolls. They are placed on the bathroom floors for easy access which I found repulsive. I used the tap handle in the smaller bathroom as a holder which meant that the basin became obsolete. In the larger bathroom one can use a shelf but it is not within easy reach.
There are no towel racks in the bathrooms. One is forced to hang towels and face cloths over the shower door for convenient access whilst showering but - as the door height in the en suite is about 8 feet high and I'm just over 5 feet tall - we were forced to use the smaller shower for our entire stay.
There are no shower caddies for holding the necessities for showering. We bought a cheap plastic container to place on the shower floor to keep track of our bar of soap which promptly filled with water and became an unpalatable congealed mess no matter how often it was emptied during a shower.
The bed had ill fitting sheets and duvet that were far too small for it's size. The top sheet barely covered the mattress protector which barely covered the exposed mattress. It was unsightly and uninviting.
The barest" welcome pack" is provided. A few cheap sachets of tea and coffee in the kitchen and a few small rounds of soaps in the bathrooms.
And the unit needed a thorough clean. The "white" towels were also a little threadbare and rather grey in colour.
To achieve a certain level of comfort it is often the smaller issues that can make or break a successful stay. The above can be easily addressed to provide an apartment that could and should be highly commendable.
Further, there were no inviting throws or cushions as depicted in the advertising photos.
Lastly, Brylowska is surrounded by two building sites of new high rise developments. The noise is incessant and consistent for 6 days a week starting at 7am.
P&O were considerate enough to meet us at the apartment to hand us the keys after our 24 hour trip from South Africa as opposed to us having to collect them at their offices. And we really appreciated the courtesy. In fact communicating with P&O was a pleasure.
And the apartment is ideally situated for touring.
