Ljubljana is not that big, but absolutely pretty!

The hotel was in the centre of the city, not far from the famous landmark (bridge).

The room was nice and the bathroom was clean and nice as well.

I would recommend this hotel.

nice hotel, good and kind service for taxi reservations etc., staff speaks slovenian, italian, german and english at least, rooms nice but a bit old-style, hairdryers would be nice to be available in the roons, very good breakfast, fast WIFI connection, good location in the city center, will come again.

triple room, poor room layout made functioning here difficult, as we were a mixed party of 3 the frosted window bathroom door didn't suit all of our needs. The breakfast was very good considering the price of the room. Its location is extremely good, within walking distance to the train station, if you travel light and are reasonably fit.

I love this hotel. It's good value for money and is located very close to the city centre. The receptionist was always friendly, helpful and spoke fluent English. It would have been nice though if Internet access had been for free.

We stayed here as two couples from March 1st-5th 2012. I was going to review this as 2/5 but you'll soon see why it only gets a 1/5...

Firstly the positives;

The location is fantastic, steps from all the main sights, really in the heart of the city. The rooms are big and the beds reasonably comfortable. The rooms are ensuite. The breakfast is a pretty good selection of cold meats, cheese, nice breads, teas, coffees and cereals. There is a safe in the room. The morning lady is pleasant and helpful.

The negatives;

The walls of the rooms are really thin. You can literally hear your neighbours toilet habits! Also, bare in mind that this hotels attracts stag groups so can be noisey all night long.

The shower is frankly dangerous. It is like mission impossible not to flood the bathroom and even the bedroom. However the dangerous bit is the shower handle that is very easy to knock to the left- which is SCALDING- both myself and one of the other couples found this out the hard way. Children should definatly not use the shower. The hotel need to install heat limiters for this to be safe.

What makes this 'terrible' was being accused of breaking a window handle and ordered to pay 70Euro! The evening/night man was pretty grumpy anyway but his accusation tainted an otherwise great trip. There were numerous minor faults with the room (see photos) so it struck me that this could be a scam to help with the wear and tear costs of the hotel. I wonder if the stag groups got challenged in such a way! I had to really stand my ground and challenge their rudeness- you really shouldn't have to do this on holiday. Terrible.

Be careful, sadly if you do choose to stay here your safest bet is to go to the room with a member staff after checking in and get them to check everything with you. Otherwise you could end up with a nastey suprise!

Dear guest,

we are sorry about your unpleasant stay in our hotel. Your review is your personal opinion which could be fair or not.
We have many guests in our hotel who know that, if the curtain is in the shower, it must be
used otherwise the bathroom is flooded. All our pipes are standard one-hand faucet, not like usually in England whit two separte handles for hot and cold water. We don't know where do you see the danger for children? Hot water has 55 degrees to provide sanitary healthy enviroment for our guests and it is perscribed by law.
And just one thing about the window handle. You arrived in our hotel on 1.3.2012. On 2.3.2012
our roommade the first time cleaned the room. The window handle was ok. On Saturday 3.3.2012 when she cleaned the room again and tried to open the window to ventilate the room, she discovered that the window handle is broken. Rooms in our hotel are cleaned every day and reviewed by supervizor.

Because we want to maintain a good relationship with our guests we did not argue with you and you did not pay for the damage caused by someone staying in your room during the time of your stay.

Since hotel opening in 2004 it was for the first time we find broken window handle and it is not our policy to charge our guests for any damage they did not cause. We renovated hotel in 2011 and 2012 so it is not worn out as stated in your review.

The hotel is easy enough to find when you arrive either with the airport shuttle or the train. There are taxis and local transportation to get you closer, should you want to shorten the walk. There is an excellent tourist information office in the main station that can tell you which of the buses will get you close to the hotel. The hotel itself is located off a street, right next to a central city park, and you will walk through a gate under an apartment house into a courtyard, where you will see signs and an entrance on the right side. There is a streetside sign as well. The rooms are clean, as you can see from their website, created in sterile efficiency with cute, diminutive TVs. The breakfast is very nice and plentiful and the personnel, night shift front desk, room domestics, and breakfast lady, are sweet and helpful. The only fly in the ointment for me was the day-shift desk clerk, who seemed to suffer from some ailment that put him into a pernanently foul mood. He must be one busy man, to be willing to give so little time to guests with questions. He was at best, brusquely courteous and it ends there. Again, no problems beyond that to speak of. The location of this hotel is absolutely tops. You are by the river and in the middle of all of the riverside restaurants and bars. There definitely is an active nightlife here. When you exit the hotel and turn right, you will see the large park. Walk through it and either use the underpass or cross the street outright by the light and you will be at a very large department store with a food department on the lower level. You can even get prepared hot foods and pizza there, to take out. The town is great for walking and pretty in a Disneyesque way. Everything seems perfectly placed for maximum eye appeal and visual effect. More on my website: cosmic-pearl.com

An excellent location for Ljubljana. 15 minute walk from the main station in Ljubljana, and 2 minutes from the city centre.

The rooms are smaller than in some hotels, and the shower rooms limited on space. The shower, hasn't been designed to keep the water in the shower but to share with the rest of the shower room. Fairly basic but acceptable considering the excellent location, which explains the price too.
