“Great omelettes, steer clear of the chocolate bomb dessert”
Reviewed 6 December 2011

We go to the language school across the street from Bali Caffe and used to come here for breakfast. The omelettes are really great (seasoned and crisped perfectly if you come in the morning). They have a mushroom omelette, cheese omelette, bacon omelette, and scrambled eggs with lecso (a hungarian paprika tomato stew rather like ratatouille) which is quite nice.

Headed here to try their lunch entrees the other day and the Bali chicken and grilled trout were both done well. Note that potato hoops on the menu are not hoops are all but fried round potato slices. We decided to try the Bali Chocolate Bomb which sounded like a signature dessert. It turned out to be a huge ramekin of some dense chocolate sponge base, a chocolate pudding layer, whipped cream, and chocolate chips. The pudding and the sponge base weren't very nice at all, and tis a sad dessert when whipped cream is the nicest part.

Still, the rest of the food was memorable and I would definitely return. The waiters are friendly and the one we had tried to teach us some hungarian.

“Nice little place”
Reviewed 8 November 2011

Quiet bar near the Astoria Hotel which is a stop on one of the major sightseeing tours. Offer a free (very small) beer or (hot) wine when purchasing a ticket with the tour.

Reasonable prices and choice of drinks.

Very friendly staff. Not cheap by Pest standards...but the food more than makes up for it!
