If you haven't been to Brody House - pack your bags and leave immediately. If you have no interest in Budapest or bathing with local Hungarians in the beautiful Széchenyi Baths (worth it though..) and munching on goulash and spicy paprika sausages, it doesn't matter. You can go to Budapest and fall into a cloud of bliss simply by stepping into Brody House and it's absolutely stunning interiors. I like to (hastily) claim I'm a "culturist" but even I could have taken a pass on Budapest's stunning architecture and hidden ruin bars and camped out in my room (The Photo Room) all week. The interiors were so beautiful that I'm now hating on my poky London flat and the staff were so attentive, in a cool, unassuming fashion. They even magically appeared one morning with a homemade muffin and 'birthday' plate for my blushing boyfriend when I don't even remember mentioning the milestone in passing. Breakfast was delicious (highly recommend the Egg's Benedict) and it's worth the short walk to Brody Studios where we hid away one evening drinking delicious cocktails and playing pool in the basement. Again the team here were all so welcoming and the style and ethos were faultless. We'll be back before the end of the year.

Room Tip: Each room is totally unique and all stunning. Some don't have windows other than the door to the hall / courtyard so worth asking.

In March 2015 I had the great opportunity to play a concert in the Brody House and I stayed with my wife three days and nights at the Brody apartments.
Felt like home, but very much cooler and the stuff did everything to help us feel comfortable.
So....
Many thanks and we will return as soon as possible....

This was probably the best hotel experience we had so far. Everything was perfect from its location to the helpful and friendly stuff to the inspiring and comfortable rooms, everything was amazing. If you want to feel like home this is where you should stay. We'll be definitely coming back to Budapest specificaly for this hotel.

Had THE most wonderful weekend here. Thank you so much. Such a fantastic hidden gem. Am hoping to come back to Budapest if only just for the opportunity to stay here again! Brody studios also great asset and one of the many perks to staying here. Staff all lovely, happy to help and rooms/house overall super. Must go.

We loved Brody House. We stayed in the Stark Suite, which offered a full kitchen and plenty of space upstairs and down. The staircase is not for the faint of heart, but as long as you are reasonably fit, you should have no trouble navigating it. Note that the bathroom is on the lower level while the bed is on the upper. Also, the main lobby and public rooms of the hotel are up several flights of stairs. No elevator that we are aware of. Could be an issue if you have lots of luggage. When you arrive, it's best to have someone wait downstairs with the luggage while the other goes up to check in. Your room may well not be up the main stairs so why tote the bags up there?

Breakfast is superb and served in copious quantities. You can feast on the cold buffet or supplement with cooked specialties such as eggs, etc. At our breakfast on the first morning we chatted with the waiter, a young American ex-pat named Sean. He made several suggestions of things to do and see and neighborhoods to visit. We did everything he advised. The restaurant (Gerolczy) was terrific. The views from the St. Stephens basilica were spectacular. The walk through his neighborhood near the Gellert baths was lovely. It made such a difference to have Sean's personal recommendations. Later on we also had a delightful cocktail hour in the honor bar, nibbling on pretzels and salty snacks provided gratis. I want to go back.
