Anchoring a giant shopping mall filled with upscale boutiques and cafes, this historic church reveals itself as originally built with solid stone nave and arches. Masses are daily, 7 pm Saturday in English, and open to all visitors

We visited many churches while in Europe this last church, but none were beautiful as this one. The inside is amazing to say the least. Do not forget to go up the steps inside to get an upper view
of the inside.

Matthias Churchor Matyas-Templon is really lovely. It is situated on Castle Hill next to Fisherman's Bastion on the Buda side. You can go inside, it costs 1500 forint. It is all lit up at night and you can see it from the Pest side. A must see in Budapest.

Matthias Church is perched up on the hill and the visit to the church also is an opportunity to catch the river view below. The church exterior has several very interesting elements. The interior is lovely. Well worth the visit.

Enjoyed looking around the interior of the impressive medieval Matthias Church. There are lovely frescos decorating the walls and pillars and the sandstone pulpit is worth a closer look.

My wife and I were here on a tour with Gate1. This church is very stunning, esp. with that roof, and the Fisherman's Bastion around it. It's just a great area to wander around and look.
When you walk up the hill and round the corner, you will see the church completely and it is beautiful.

FYI: I hate to part w/my camera after all these years, but it's not taking indoor photos as well as it used to ... sorry

Richly decorated, painted walls, columns, every surface. Beautiful Art Nouveau angels and images of knights and kings.
