Surprising rooms in size. Location perfect right next to the great synagogue. A nice student restaurant cafe "Castro Bistro" next door completes this package.
Affordable prices. Only downside could be some street noise in the bottom floors.
Definitely a good choice!

This hotel is situated brilliantly next to Deak Ter metro but you can walk anywhere as it's in district 5. A massive room with kitchen facilities and so spacious. I loved the breakfast, better then most hotels. The staff are friendly and helpful - a great trip and I will return to this place while recommending it to friends and family.

We stayed at the Regency Suites towards the end of 2011. We had stayed at this hotel before and previously thought it was very good. However on this occasion we were extremely disappointed. The standards have really gone downhill.

The buffet breakfast used to be excellent. This time it was exceedingly poor. It seems they have downgraded the quality of the food and are possibly working to a strict budget. It was not just one item - it was everything.

They used to have proper fruit juices. This has now been replaced by a machine that dispenses assorted cordial “juices” (the “slush puppy” type of machine). The juices were cheap, nasty diluting juices and consisted mainly of water. They have also replaced their coffee with a machine that does not dispense what I would consider "coffee". Basically it “dispenses” a lukewarm “liquid”. The hot chocolate was little different.

There was no real "fresh" fruit on offer, just a small “display” fruit bowl that had seen better days. The cold "meats" were of the cheap processed variety, namely, reconstituted “spam” or luncheon meat and they tasted as horrible as they looked. (There is a much better selection available in the supermarket just around the corner). The cereal consisted of just 3 bowls, again all of a very poor quality. The bread was often stale and the staff seemed very reluctant to replenish any of the items. The “cooked” section consisted of only scrambled eggs and small “cocktail” sausages cut in half (the type that come in small tins).

The rooms, although very large, were in need of some attention. As other reviewers have pointed out, there was a strong smell of stale cigarette smoke that seemed to linger. The carpets and some of the furnishings were also fairly shabby.

The hotel is in an excellent location, the reception staff were helpful and the free Wi-Fi was a huge bonus. However, I would not consider staying there again unless the hotel has an overhaul, in particular, the breakfast. It really was very poor and not of a standard you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The rooms would also benefit from a bit of a refurbishment.

This hotel is a great choice in Budapest and I stay here everytime I visit this beautiful city.
Regency suites is truly a hidden treasure.
The location couldnt' be better. You are right next to the main metro station (Deak Ter) where several buses and trams also connect and will take you anywhere in a couple of minutes. If you want to spend time on the busy Vaci Utca (the main shopping street) it's just a stonethrow away and you can walk there in 3 minutes. Trams 47 and 49 will take you two stops and you'll be at the not so well known Raday utca where you will find the best restaurants in Budapest.(please avoid eating on Vaci utca as the quality of the food is poor compared to what you pay)
There is also a nice square right outside the hotel with cute little coffee places and restaurants where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a small meal in the evening without the busy and touristified stress of downtown. This is the real atmosphere of Budapest and not the tourist trap.

Regency Suites has nice apartments with large living rooms and a bedroom. Perfect If you're travelling with kids. The apartments are clean and the bathrooms are very nice.
You'll have free Wifi and space to work as well if you're here on business.

to sum it up:
great location
great service
quiet friendly atmosphere
you avoid the downtown stress of Vaci Utca and at the same time you're right there

We stayed for 4 nights at this praiseworthy hotel with our 3 small kids. We got a large and clean (2 bedroom) room with 4 beds and a baby cot. The room included microwave and refrigerator and a large bathroom.

Free WiFi. Nothing fancy but everything clean and working. Ok breakfast buffet.

Overall, the hotel was really good!! Staff was helpful, knew how to assist us and very pleasant. The breakfast was really well done. There were six of us ( 4 adults, 2 kids) and there was something for all of us each day. Layout of the rooms were really good and the little kitchenette area was nice to have. Centrally located and easy to get to many places. Little gyros resturant down the road was yummy too!

Only real negative was the initial look and smell of the lobby. When we walked in, I thought it was going to be one of those places that look like one thing on line and another in person.... But it was all as I had expected.

Good for families.

This was my 3rd stay in Regency Suites Hotel and I am using for business visits. Always friendly front desk and perfect service. Very large suites with separate bedroom and living room areas, no luxury but very clean. Rich and good buffet breakfast. There is a nice bar under the hotel. Very fast WI-FI Internet and fitness with sauna included, useful after long days.
