Description: A little Greece on the riverbank of the Danube... Dionysos moved to the Pest bank of the River Danube on New Year's Eve 1993 and has since delighted the dwellers of our city with delicacies of Greek cuisine and delicious wine of its vineyards. The air is filled with the fragrance of char-grilled meats and fishes, fresh-cut vegetables and crispy-baked home style bread. Thanks to the friendly atmosphere, diners chit-chat casually around the tables, which blends pleasantly into the melodies of Greek music playing in the background. It is good to be in this restaurant. The pampering feeling of authentic entertainment accompanies the guests from the moment they enter up until they leave. We hope you visit us soon so that we may entertain you for a few hours here in little Greece of Budapest!

We save our trips to Taverna Dionysos for special occasions because we know we'll never be disappointed. Aside from an always warm welcome by the attentive staff,to the warm, authentically decorated restaurant, we always enjoy a complimentary taste treat and a complimentary aprés dinner item.
In between, you will find many delightful, tasty menu items from which to choose. All well done and beautifully presented for you to enjoy while authentic Greek music serenades you. Over the years I've sampled many dishes. The lamb choices are flavorful and fall-off-the-bone perfectly done. The whole fish entrees are exceptional-firm and flaky. The octopus is a worthwhile treat- the chicken tender and delicious.
The portions are generous and nicely garnished so you may want to share an appetizer (pastry filled w. spinach or cheeses is divine). For dessert, you can't beat the siragli(like baclava). A parting gift for the wife is always appreciated and is typical of the wonderful overall dining experience. In warm weather, call well in advance for reservations and sit outside astride the Danube and opposite Gellert Hill.

Went there for a fast dinner. Service was very friendly and the restaurant has a funny super greek theme with a waterfall by the entrance. Staff was cheerful, singing along the music. Got served food fast as we requested for it - were busy rushing to the movies. Ordered mackerel paste (to die for!!), fried calamaris with amazing dipping sauce, good fried scampi and an average good spinach-feta strudel which had an amazing amount of spinach.

Big and good beer, good pita and of course amazing tzaziki, and starters were really cheap. Paid around 10 000 forints (around 30 euros) for 5 starters and 2 beers. Wanted to try everything from the menu!

MAKE SURE you go to the toilet - was almost the best part of the whole dinner. Lovely and super hygienic, even funny with self-changing plastic covers on toilet seats and small tissues around.

Will definitely come back soon!

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary this week. I'm vegetarian so wanted a break from the veggie alternatives for goulash and beef stew. This restaurant was delightful, right on the steps of the Danube next to Liberty bridge. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. We shared a cold plate to start and had to have an hour break before main course as there was so much food. The wine selection was good, the most expensive bottle of Hungarian was £20 and it was delicious. Plenty of choice for both veggies and non veggies, lovely friendly atmosphere and affordable delicious food. Would highly recommend.
