“One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in”
Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We have travelled a lot and stayed in some fabulous hotels and this is one of the best. Pre arrival communication was excellent and they arranged for a car to meet us at the airport and indeed return us back there.
The location is excellent very close to some major attractions like Chain Bridge, the impressive St Stephens Basilica, Jewish quarter and the moving Shoes by the Danube memorial. We walked miles aided by directions from the very helpful concierge. They also booked us a night cruise, a trip to Széchenyi thermal baths and a restaurant.
The staff here, make this hotel so special. They are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about their hotel.
The hotel itself looks unimposing outside but inside its incredible. The interior designer who got the brief to decorate it has made a lovely space with a very individual feel to the whole place. It's slightly quirky and we loved it. We were on the 6th floor of the classical wing in the Franz Josef Listz room. It was magnificent with an enormous bed and wonderful print of the great man himself next to it. It is described as a sun room and has a partial glass ceiling. The room was spotlessly clean and housekeeping staff were friendly and attentive. The bath was huge and there was a good size walk in shower in the bathroom plus it had lovely Molton Brown toiletries,
We ate here on the first night in the library room and the food was excellent with a dessert to die for called The Great Gatsby. We also went up to the roof bar every evening after we returned from dinner. This is a popular place with the "beautiful people" of Budapest and we found that we needed to book a table to ensure we could drink outside with the magnificent floodlight backdrop of St Stephens.
Another lovely offering of the Aria is complementary wine with cheese and biscuits every afternoon from 4pm until 6pm with a very accomplished pianist playing.
I cannot rate this hotel high enough. It far exceeded any expectations we had and we would like to thank all the staff for making our 3 night stay so wonderful and memorable.

Room Tip: Room 606 is magnificent!

Dear Gilly T,

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences about your stay at Aria Hotel Budapest and your praising words.

Indeed, we find it very important to have our concierge colleagues contact our guests prior to their arrival, to see if we can ensure a smooth arrival for them to the hotel. Also, it is a great way for us to find out if there are any special arrangements they would like us to make. If we have the chance, we would like our guests to start their stay by the time they get off their plane, which is why we organize the luxury transfers for them.

Being in the very center of the city is a bless for us because not only we try our best to provide the perfect memories for our beloved guests but we have many places around with a similar mentality and you are able to see the best side of the city and the country. I was glad to read that you’ve enjoyed our wine & cheese receptions, it can truly be a relaxing haven after a tiring day exploring Budapest to listen to some fine music and have a refreshing glass of wine.

I would especially like to thank you for pointing out the helpfulness of our team. Whether it is the ready-to-serve attitude of our housekeeping, to make you feel at home by coming back to a clean room every day, or the friendliness of our concierge and front desk staff with the purpose of understanding the needs of our guests to the fullest by welcoming and open communication. This way of thinking is reflected on the design and construction of our rooms. Sleeping quality is a thing we place a great emphasis on, since we would like our guests to start their days with a smile on their face and so they can fully enjoy the complimentary breakfast in our Music Garden. In the Liszt Studio you’ve stayed in, you are able to top this experience with letting a lot of sunshine in your room with the partly glass ceiling. This is one of the perks of this room which makes it one of our guests' favorite.

I am pleased to see you mentioning about the little things that sometimes can really make the difference such as the High Note SkyBar's handcrafted cocktails and the desserts served by our Stradivari Restaurant. The Skybar really is one of the hotspots of Budapest, so it was a wise decision to get a reservation so you can sit at your desired table with the best view, however our hotel guests are always a priority and we make sure that they get served no matter what.

Dear Gilly, I hope that in the near future we’ll have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Aria. If you would like to make a new reservation or you’re in need of any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me personally.

With warm regards from Budapest,

István Lukács

Dear _barnabasmutua1998,
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feelings with us. We are delighted to see that you liked all our facilities from the Harmony Spa's gym and swimming pool to the Room Service. We are blessed with our location, in the heart of the city at the same time not on the most touristy rather in a protected area, where only selected taxis and limousines are permitted to enter and it is more of a pedestrian zone of Budapest. I am glad to see that you recognized our attention to detail and our genuine service paired that can make a difference.
Once again, thank you for your precious feedback and for choosing Aria Hotel as your home away from home.
Should you require anything from us please do let us know and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you back soon.

Warm regards,

Booked here by our travel agent and agree with top reviews on Trip Advisor. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, solicitous. They go out of their way to make sure the guests are comfortable and happy; including promises to purchase a new pillow for your bed if their large selection is not adequate.
Added bonus: 4-6 pm complimentary wine & cheese while listening to live music in the lobby. Not to be missed: Kasai Jnofinn is a fantastic piano player/singer.

Dear Carol F,

Thank you for choosing Aria Hotel Budapest for your recent visit to Budapest and for sharing your overall positive experience and your impression of our hotel on TripAdvisor. I was happy to note that you enjoyed your stay with us and that is mainly contributed to the professional service extended to you by our staff.

Apart from all the amenities inspired by the harmony and pace of music, our signature entertainer, Kasai is indeed a rare gem of piano playing and singing. If no other argues might persuade our guests, he alone is worth visiting the Aria Hotel Budapest for an unforgettable Wine & Cheese reception.

We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back either to our outlets or hopefully as a staying guest in our hotel next time.

Best regards,

The Aria in Budapest is an excellent hotel. We had the pleasure of staying there two nights earlier this month (June 2017). Communication with the hotel staff before our trip was easy and reassuring. They arranged for an early check-in and for a car to pick us up to bring us to the hotel as well as bring us back to the airport. The concierges were always happy to supply information and recommendations. The Harmony Spa was excellent. We enjoyed a couples massage and later the jacuzzi, pool and sauna. (My partner is a massage therapist, so we know when we've received a great massage, and we did at the Aria.) Attention to detail abounds and all of our needs were met. The breakfast was tasty and well-organized, and in the afternoons we enjoyed the wine, cheese and the piano music in the lobby. We stayed in the Jazz wing, and loved the colors and decor. The room-darkening shades in the room were very much appreciated, and the room was well-appointed with all the amenities we could want. We did not figure out how to use the towel-warmer but that was our fault for not asking for more help. The hotel is in an excellent location right near Saint Stephen's Basilica, and interesting shops and restaurants as well as walking distance to the Budapest Eye. The Aria's restaurant was wonderful and we were delighted with the inventive dishes we had. The rooftop deck had awe-inspiring views of the city, and the bar had unique cocktails, presented artfully. Part or parts of the deck did seem to be off-limits , I gather due to reservations but we still had enough access. Each of the staff we met was friendly and eager to help and professional. I can see everyone works hard there and is dedicated. I recommend this hotel to anyone.

In one of the best locations in budapest this hotel the aria is a great choice when coming to the aria. A mix of modern and pop the hotel and its staff work to make you experience a good one and a safe one. Good security at the door keeps out the posers. Nice rooftop bar and lobby bar. Rooms are just okay size-wise you would expect larger. bathrooms also not great but very nice. Breakfast is weaker for them not great but acceptable with staff overwhelmed when its busy. Overall a good choice in budapest and would stay again.

Dear Herbert_Tabin,

First and foremost let me thank you for taking the time to share your detailed review regarding your recent stay with us at Aria Hotel Budapest.

It was great to see that you highlighted both the theme of our property, the High Note SkyBar and the Music Garden as well, but most importantly the high service level our staff provided!

Our Interior designer created four design hotels in one, with a completely different look and feel of each wing of the hotel, each inspired by a different genre of music, Opera, Classical, Contemporary and Jazz. Next time you book with us, I recommend you to go for either one of our Aria Signature Room with a Music Garden view or City view.

I would like to thank you for your feedback. I truly hope we will be able to welcome you back to the Aria and make sure you have a perfect experience. Should you have any further remarks or questions, please feel free to contact me directly via regina @ ariahotelbudapest. com any time.

Best regards,
Regina Parti

When we are searching for hotels, we look for a boutique-size hotel in a prime location, with a few extras thrown in. To say we were thrilled with Aria is a complete understatement. Our trip had a 24-hour delayed start due to the British Airways fiasco at the end of May. We immediately notified Aria and they told us not to worry. They would extend our stay on the back end by one day. We took advantage of the car service offered by the hotel, and though not inexpensive, it was worth being transported in style, after the rough start to our trip. We had booked the Luxury Room with 1 King Bed in the Classical Wing and we were given a large room with a balcony overlooking the Music Garden. (Not sure if all the Luxury Rooms have balconies but ours was Room 207). The room was beautiful and impeccably clean. And since we were celebrating our anniversary, champagne and fruit were waiting for us upon arrival. The bathroom (separate tub and rainfall shower), complete with chandelier, was spacious and opulent.

The hotel is located within a stone’s throw of the beautiful St. Stephen’s Basilica. There are so many restaurants (and sights) within a short walk that we never needed a cab. We literally walked everywhere (using even public transporation only once to get to the Szechenyi Baths) Arriving earning in the evening on the first day, we asked Tomas at the Front Desk for a few dinner recommendations. We chose Café Kor and Tomas made a reservation. We were very happy with this casual (but very attentive dining experience) with great local selections and wine. Tomas ended up making reservations for us the next 2 nights (Evidens and Etterem) and we enjoyed each restaurant he recommended. After dinner, we headed up to the Sky Bar for a drink and the incredible view looking out at the massive St. Stephen’s Dome, lit up at night with Buda across the river.

Starting off with the complimentary breakfast in the Music Garden each morning was relaxing and peaceful. We tried all of the made-to-order egg dishes and were pleased with each. The buffet selection of fruits, breads, cheeses, etc. was more than ample and the service was spot-on. After breakfast, we toured the Pest sights (St. Stephens and a climb to the tower for a great daytime view of the city), a walk along the Danube Promenade (where you come upon the Shoes on the Danube memorial), continued to the Parliament Building (but no a tour because our timing was off. I understand the tour is worthwhile for history buffs but not a must-do tour. But if you’re interested, get tickets in advance). We did do the Hungarian Opera Tour, which was very interesting (definitely pay extra for the private mini-concert by one of the opera singers at the end). We tried to visit the Great Synagogue, however, a sign was posted on the ticket window that they closed early and would be closed the following 2 days. Be sure to check in advance if this is on your to-do list. We were at least able to see the Tree of Life through the open fence. We made it back to the hotel in time for the lovely Wine and Cheese hour, with entertainment by a talented pianist in the Music Garden.

The following day we concentrated on the Buda sights but wanted to make it back in time to go to the colorful and worthwhile Szechenyi Baths. The hotel provided us with some spare towels so we wouldn’t have to rent them, which was great. On the way back, we found the Szimpla Kert Ruin Bar (worth a visit) and had a drink. We also visited the revitalized and very lively Jewish District which offers many pubs and clubs. If we had more time, we would have hung out here a while longer. Tomas set us up again for dinner on our final evening at Etterem, a restaurant that was “off the beaten path”. In fact we were the only diners there (sat outside). Though that made me nervous initially, both of our dinners were delicious and the service was great. It was also incredibly reasonable for all of the food, drinks & dessert we had.

We were sorry to leave the Aria the following morning to head to Prague. But we would stay there again in a heartbeat. If I “had” to pick one thing for them to improve, it might be to invest in some fluffier bath towels. Otherwise, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Dear Travelbugs53,

First of all, let me thank you for this stunning review! It is our rewarding to read such a positive feedback like this one from you.
We are delighted to read that you were comforted not only by the interior decor, the general music inspired atmosphere and services but the friendly and personal approach of our staff. Our front desk agent, Tamás is very proud of your remarkable praising on his helpful manner, just as all of my colleagues at the front desk, the dining and bar outlets - the stunning High Note SkyBar included - and the concierge office.

I am delighted you mentioned the location, because it is a very important aspect. The Aria is close to everything that is popular in Budapest, and it shows a bit of all the most important values that make our beloved city unique.

Your remarks are highly appreciated and we hope for a chance to welcome you back in the not too distant future!

This is the third Library collection hotel that we have stayed in and it maintains the quality and distinctiveness we encountered in Prague and NewYork. Also, it is a perfect location for public transport to get around Budapest. The staff were extremely friendly and truly interested in making our stay as good as possibe, when we had suggestions, such as providing an extra piece of furniture in the bathroom, they acted on them immediately. The quality of the breakfast and snack food was great. Our suggestion is to make the dinner menu and options clearer, and perhaps 'more Hungarian'.

Dear Bgks ,

It is really quite heart-warming to read your review and the testimony of your loyalty to the Library Hotel Collection founded by our visionary hotelier guru, Mr Henry Kallan.

It was an enormous pleasure to have you staying with us and I am delighted you had a great time discovering our fabulous city as described above.

We consider your suggestions regarding our farm fresh buffet breakfast very thoroughly, as we are constantly developing the choice of fruits, cold cuts, cereals, egg dishes, bread variety etc. in accordance with the feedback by our guests.

I hope you are keen to come and visit us again whether that is for an afternoon tea, an overnight stay or a nice cocktail at the High Note SkyBar.
