It´s a nice baroque building, with a neat park around it. The exhibition is not too big, and at the end there´s an interactive part about the history of the castle and the family it used to belong to.

Big historical monument in a definitely good shape, and six different exhibitions included. Good program also with kids, but needs half if a day. The castle in Keszthely was built and used by 7 generations of family Festetics. They were Lords and investors also with interesting in sciences, that can you see everywhere. Castle is renewed, with lots of original furniture, paintings and carpets and with an unimaginable historical library. Beautiful big garden. Palm house. Exhibition about horses, coaches, hunting, guns and wild animals and model railway. Every information are available in Hungarian, English and German. Restrooms are clear. You can organise your visit: there are different combined tickets. Recommended.

Keszthely palace could be reached from the main touristic area (beach) by feet. The complex exists of small front park, palace itself (ensemble of buildings) and cultivated park behind the main entrance, designed mostly in english manner. Small cafe in the building, park with many photographic spots.

I visited the Festetics Palace in January 2017 during our family holiday and I can recommend this visit to everybody who is interested in history, architecture and cultural monuments. Beautiful architecture, extraordinary interiors and decorations and absolutely amazing historical library consisting of more than 80 000 books. We met very kind, willing and well-read guide, who presented in three languages (Hungarian, English, German) as we were mixed group.
If you are visiting this place, don´t miss coach museum - I have never seen such beautiful coaches in such quantity collected in one place. We also visited very nice palm house which is near by the palace, and hunting museum - I have to say the last mentioned is not quite my cup of tea, but despite of it I have to admit that also this museum was interesting and wherever we came, we have met only nice and willing staff.
This place definitely worth a visit.
