Owner description: Historic neighborhood filled with charming narrow lanes, burgher's houses and nobles' palaces in addition to many of the city's important buildings such as the former Palace of the Hungarian Estates, the late-Gothic building of the Academia Istropolitana and the Leopold de Pauli Palace where Franz Liszt performed as a child.

Getting here from the train station is nearly a 30 minute walk. Most of what you read says 20 minutes, which would be a run, not even a swift walk.

Old town is interesting with cobbled streets of cute buildings. Of course there are your share of rude pushy tourists.

I’m glad we went. I am not likely to go back.

Great to meander around the streets on a sunny day. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants where you can sit outside and people watch. Lots of historic buildings but also lots of touristy souvenir shops.

You can spend two or three days just looking at the buildings. We took a tour on a strange mini bus from the old square and it was very informative.

Small but charming old town with much more to see than I expected. Not so full of tourists as many other old towns. Very pleasant experience. Highly recommend the small bus tour!
