This is a two storey restaurant in the middle of old Klaipeda with a spacious outdoor lawn in late spring - early autumn. It is a place to go for meets in Lithuania's main port. Visvaldas, the chef, personally selects suppliers, and buys most of his meat from farmers. The menu is not huge and focuses on pork, chicken and beef. Specially marinated spare ribs are Visvaldas' speciality and only to taste them is reason enough to go to Portobello. He prepares dishes in full view of the clients during summer months on an outdoor grill. The restaurant offers an international selection of beers plus, since not long ago, an extensive menu of gin-based cocktails with a dozen different sorts of gin. One has to order drinks at the counter but waiters will serve you anyway. Service is polite and non-fussy. Overall a great place to go for a square meal.
