I must say that the fantastic experience began before we even set foot in the restaurant. Julius was most helpful and accommodating throughout the booking process - especially considering that we were arranging this all from London for the special occasion; to celebrate our marriage with our immediate family. It was a very smooth and considerate reservation process which we very much appreciate.
We were warmly greeted on the day, and a partition of the restaurant had kindly been arranged - keeping a very intimate and private feel for us and our guests. With a glass-wall view into the kitchen, it was truly a fantastic setting!
The most lovely member of staff introduced herself to us as Ana Babariko who looked after us for our entire stay - please do pass on our gratitude to her for making such a special experience on such a special day for us! Also fluent in English, she kindly took the time to explain to my husband the English translation of the menu items and make sure that he was made to feel at home. Always with a smile and charm, we have not been graced by meeting a better host!! We were also greatly impressed that the team had even taken the time to print out date-stamped menus for our specific choices - and even in both languages!!
The food itself was not just exciting in flavour, but was met with superb and exciting presentation. The ingredients had all been freshly prepared (we were even able to see the magic all happen from our table!) and the dishes were certainly an incredible combination of ingredients - most notably the parsley ice cream was out of this world. Although my husband does not usually eat desserts, he could not help but ask for a second helping - which is as high a compliment as I've seen when it comes to desserts!
All of the dishes were cooked to perfection and served at proper temperature. The chef team was also fantastic. With a privileged insight into the functionality of the Monai kitchen, we were able to witness the professional young team of chefs work with both passion and flare - a passion which we feel is sadly diminishing as of late. It was an enjoyable experience to be able to see directly into the running of the back of house, and we must comment that Tomas Jakas (who was kind enough to also extend pleasant wedding wishes to us) had an extraordinary command of his kitchen. We saw him work with an unparalleled level of precision and an even envious level of finesse! Please do pass on our gratitude to Tomas also - it was an honour to witness his work.
In conclusion - the experience which we were so kindly endowed by all of the team at Monai was, without a shadow of a doubt, the best way which were able to celebrate our wedding with family. Please accept our deepest gratitude for such a wonderful evening! We will be sure to stop by again soon!!!
