they left us stranded at 2AM
Review of LEU Guest House
1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Apr 30, 2017via mobile
We booked this place a week in advance, knowing that we would arrive in Vilnius in the middle of the night and that we'll just need a place to sleep in for one night to catch another flight the next day. Apparently confirming in writing that you are indeed coming (after already booking a room) is not enough. We got there and they didn't even say hi, just that there are no free rooms. They also told us to complain to booking.com where I booked them. Regardless of the fact that it was their doing. They finally confessed that they do this all the time. That written confirmation is not enough and they call. Since we didn't pick up their call (they called us at 5am our time) they assumed we weren't coming. They didn't make the effort to then email and double check or call again at a later time. We were left stranded in Vilnius at 2am on a Friday with little to no hope of finding an affordable alternative. I strongly suggest you book somewhere else and triple check with the hotel that they'll actually have a room once you show up. To say the experience was a disgrace is a big understatement.

Last time I was in Vilnius my friend recommended this place to stay. This time I chose this place again, and probably will stay here during my next trip.

Pluses:
+ Good location, about 20-25 min walk from the railway station, and about 15 min walk to the old city. The big supermarket is also quite close.
+ It's university area, so it's quiet outside
+ all necessary equipment, including fridge in the room, and you can ask for the kettle or the hairdryer at the reception
+ fair price
+ wifi
+ bathroom (shared for two rooms)

Minuses:
- maybe if you neighbours are loud, that would be a problem. I was lucky enough, for the second time I was the only guest at the whole 2-rooms block :)

It was a value for money to have a private room myself. Your experience is highly dependent of your neighbour because you will be sharing the bathroom with them. I did not have a neighbour for two nights. Showers worked fine. A 15 minutes to all attractions and to train station as well. About €3 taxi ride to bus station. Kitchen was poorly equipped and you need to ask for a key for access. If you want to meet travelers, stay somewhere else. I hardly see any guests.

I have got a room on 11th floor with a nice view over a snowy Vilnius. My room with private bathroom was clean and an extra door provided noise-insulation from the lift or anything else going on on the floor. The staff was as helpful as was expecting and I have been quite happy with my short stay. Free-wifi was working decently.

I just came home after staying for 3 nights, and the room itself was actually very nice. It was spacious, clean and freshly renovated. Consistently awesome WiFi signal, too.

We had a group of smelly, loud and obnoxious construction workers staying next door (those we had to share the facilities with), and because the walls were paper-thin and there was some ventilation issue, they've made our stay a bit stressful for obvious reasons. With someone quieter and cleaner, though, it would be a great experience overall.

It's a quiet area right beside LEU and a children's school, and you are less than a 5 minute walk to the the Lithuanian equivalent of WalMart. I had a solo room, and was very fine with it. Walls are a little then so you can hear people cooking, but that's it. Staff is very informative and the room is the perfect size and needs for one individual. Bathroom is clean and has everything you would need.
