We spent a lovely week in Tallinn staying in the Metropole Hotel. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from old town and not far from the ferry terminal. The hotel breakfasts was lovely with plenty to eat. The hotels restaurant Pizzanaut is lovely. The staff in the restaurant are pleasant the service we received was fantastic keep up the good work staff.

We booked this hotel because of its location and the price (not too bad by Tallinn standards). Our room was very large, well-equipped and clean, but the window looked onto the internal light-well above the reception, which was a bit odd, but as it didn't open we weren't much troubled by noise floating up. Our booking was for the room only and we were too mean to pay 10 euros each for breakfast, so can't comment on that. A few paces from the hotel entrance is a shop 'Alexela' where you can get coffee, toasted sandwiches etc to eat in or take away, so that took care of our breakfast needs at half the cost.

This hotel is well-situated between the port, the shopping areas and Old Town. There are also a number of good places to eat around it, including the pizzeria by the lobby. Their rooms, or at least the one I was booked in, is typical of a 3-star hotel.

Don’t book this hotel if you are used to 4/5 star hotel accommodation. No air con and windows don’t open enough to let much air in. Good shower but rubbish hairdryer as seems to be the norm in these hotels - where do they get them from?? Also ridiculously tiny pillows?? Breakfast ok. Very clean but to me is more of a hostel/student rent accommodation.

The location of this hotel is very good. We got tram 4 from airport to Hobujaama stop and then about a 5min walk. Easy to get a tram from nearby to bus station. Also easy to walk to port (10-15min) for a day trip to Helsinki.

The room was a good size; as was the bathroom. The beds were comfortable.

The biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning. When we were there at end of July it was a heat wave of high 20s/30°C. I'm sure air con is not normally an issue in the local climate, but the room was so warm and uncomfortable. Thankfully the window opened wide, but it made little difference and it meant a few uncomfortable nights of sleep.

The breakfast was plentiful and there was plenty of space in the breakfast room/restaurant.

One day we came back in early evening to discover our room hadn't been cleaned. Staff were apologetic and sent up clean towels for next day.

There is a Rimi supermarket not too far away for drinks / snacks and vending machines in lobby.

Overall a practical, comfortable hotel. Shame about lack of air con.
