Peter's Market is the largest in Liepaja and the second largest in the country. It offers a wide variety of seasonal berries, fruit and vegetables, mushrooms, flowers, plants and farming products.
The outside market also has lots of processes meats and cheeses, second hand and new clothing and even one vendor selling books.
According to the inhabitants, the pavilion of Peter's market is one of the most beautiful in Europe. The pavilion of the market was opened in 1910 and the architect had to fit it in between three churches - St. Anne's Church to the East, St. Joseph's Cathedral to the West and a Synagogue which was once to the south of the market.
The pavilion had an innovative shape for those times and the roof structure with its large windows provide ample light. The inside market mostly had meat and cheese produce with the fish section being downstairs.
With the development of malls, etc. much of the products can now be found there, but for interaction, Peter's Market seems to attract many, many people.
