Being a Relais Chateau property, we had certain expectations. We were not disappointed. The dining room is intimate, but nicely lit so you don't have to use your phone to read the menu. Service was first rate - knowledgeable without being condescending. But, the best part was the delicious preparation of all the fish/seafood we had. We started with a few tapas to wet our appetites - Pickled Herring, Charcoal potatoes w/ caviar, and Crispy Baltic Herring. Then moved onto Appetizers - the Foie Gras Brulee was sensational (I would fly back to Riga - just to eat this!). Main courses included soft shell crab and the Alder Smoked Sturgeon (which comes to the table presented under a glass dome of smoke). We were full, but the desserts sounded too good and given how much we had already enjoyed the meal, we didn't want to miss tasting the dessert options. The Sea-Buckthorn Cream was a new taste for us and we loved it - a cross between citrus and passion fruit. Overall, excellent value for the money and such an enjoyable evening. Don't miss this when in Riga!
