One night standard room 200 Eur, other night - classic room terrace 290 Eur. There is no difference between these two rooms, except the price. And I can say the The second room was very dark. The cheaper room was much better.
As we stayed with 1,5 year child, the room was nearest to the kitchen and from 4 p.m. to 12 p.m. was a party.
The receptionist (black hair) was very slow. As I am pregnant, I had to wait for 20 minutes, while she was talking with two clients before me. Does not take the fact that you are pregnant.
And we couldn't sleep till 1 a.m., because two times between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. were allowed fireworks. As we payed money for relax time (overpriced), but we had a hell time in Esperanza resort.
And were very strange questions from service staff in the evenings : do you need to put up beds ? WTF ?

Dear Ingrida,

Thank you for spending your time to write your review, however it was upsetting to read that your stay did not fully met your expectations.

As I found out you were shown our classic room with terrace, but it’s a shame that all the difference you noticed was a price. The standard room is at the 3rd floor and it is the cheapest option in Esperanza Resort where all rooms are accessed from public corridor, however it is definitely the brightest as it has roof windows plus regular windows. The classic room with terrace is at 2nd floor, has accessibility directly from the outside area and it has a huge terrace where our guests can sit and enjoy the tranquility of forest.

We do understand your situation as a pregnant woman and to wait might be very tiresome and frustrating, especially with this unbearable heat outside, nevertheless please understand that this is a peak of our season where we are fully booked and we have numerous check-ins and check-outs on a daily basis, therefore a holdup of 15-20 minutes might happen time to time during these procedures.

As I understood for you it was particularly uneasy when our staff member intruded your privacy in the evening. However please keep in mind that most 5 star hotels and resorts prepare guestroom beds for the night as it is standard housekeeping evening service, which is part of hotel operational standards worldwide. Therefore if the guestroom does not have “do not disturb” sign and is empty, housekeeping proceeds with this service. If the guest is present in the room, housekeeper must ask if the guest agrees for the service or should it be done later.

If you will have any questions or inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact me personally via e-mail admin@esperanzaresort.lt.

When we arrived in the evening it was a fairy tale. The light of the buildings across the lake; our evening could not be broken anymore. The personal welcome and fast service was perfect if you want to get to your bed quickly after a day of traveling. The breakfast, the spa treatments and the lunch/ dinner were all good to very good. in particular the personal attention and guidance is great and friendly. We came here to rest! The park is too small to make a substantial nature walk. But within half an hour drive there is plenty to see and experience both in terms of nature and culture. The capital Vilnius is within reach. To recommend!

Pros
Amazing location - lake, forest, etc. perfect for relaxation. Lots of lounge beds to sit on, comfy sunbeds at the beach. Beautiful outdoor interior. In general, the outdoor experience was fantastic but once you get back to your tiny room you immediayely forget you’re staying at a 5* resort...
Complimentary pick up from the airport was greatly appreciated. The driver was very helpful; probably the only proactive staff member at the resort.

Cons
Rooms were too small, very oldschool (I know they were aiming for lodge style but the interior was not well maintained throughout the rooms) and did not have proper windows, so no view of the lake, which is a missed opportunity in my opinion.
Breakfast was rather basic - no eggs station or fresh juices, which is a must for a 5 stars resort.
Restaurants barely had any Lithuanian food (3 appetizers) or even local produce (other than veg & herbs). Again, it’s a missed opportunity. There is so many local fish, mushrooms etc., why would anyone want to eat fish caught in the Mediterranean? I understand that perhaps locals like that but it’s also a hotel and you should be thinking about those who are coming from overseas eager to try local food or at least local produce. Also, prices were very high (e.g. 26€ for a small piece of grilled fish with potato puree) - for such prices I could have a Michelin star meal in Singapore. Also, to my surprise they did not have any beers on draft. For a country that is famous for their beer, it’s a huge disappointment. I was expecting the resort to partner with a small brewery that makes good craft beer.
Staff were nice but not proactive or particularly helpful. After 20 hrs of traveling they couldn’t even arrange an early check in (when I say early I mean 1pm) - we had to use the tiny locker room at the spa to change & have a shower. I also find it odd that in order to use the paddle boards or any other ‘equipment’ at the beach you need to go all the way to the reception. There should be someone in charge of that at the beach - it’s a 5 stars resort after all. No lifeguard either, so you’re really on your own.
Overall, it’s definitely not a 5 stars resort and not a good value for money at all. The nature part of the hotel is amazing but as an overall package it’s not worth it. It has a huge potential and if someone bothered to do some work on the interior of the rooms and trained the staff to act like they were working for a 5* hotel, I think it would be a great place.

Dear Shikeqi S,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We are comforted to know that you have enjoyed our outdoor activities and appreciated our complimentary airport transfer.
However at the same time, we are saddened to see that our typically very popular standard room design and concept did not meet your expectations.

At our resort we serve dishes only from the freshest produce, same rule pertains at our breakfast buffet. We have extensive egg dishes, porridges and other dishes prepared ‘a la minute’ for our guests from our complimentary breakfast menu and it’s a shame you missed an opportunity to enjoy it.

Thank you for recognizing that most of our vegetables and herbs during season come from our organic garden situated within our premises, other than that none of our restaurants are serving exclusively local cuisine and it’s unfortunate that you did not approach our concierge desk where we would of recommended you great Lithuanian cuisine restaurants in the nearest town or in Vilnius. To elaborate the topic of local food, we have an entertaining option for our guests to catch the fish themselves at our lake and the chef would prepare it as requested. Another option is to visit our restaurants for fresh fish, which comes from Atlantic or Indian oceans and yes there are few fish dishes also from Mediterranean Sea.

We are sorry to hear that you had long and probably very tiresome trip before you reached us. Whenever possible we always extend late check-outs or early check-ins, however please do understand that at this very moment we are at the peak of our season and we cannot extend early check-ins or late check-outs when we are fully booked.

Once again, we appreciate your feedback as we always strive to improve our guest experiences and if I can assist further do not hesitate to contact me admin@esperanzaresort.lt

The case when facade is better when the inner experience.
Everything has a Soviet spirit apart SPA. Attached hangers (not to steal), we didn’t see anywhere in the world at 5* hotel anything like that; hundreds of curtains, breakfast room with white table clothes.
Few people of staff at the reception are definitely not trained for good service. Making faces and things like that.
Very small bed for two people, one extra bed is for what??

SPA facilities are quite good, amazing Thai massage therapist, staff at the SPA are customer-oriented. Still extremely small changing rooms are lacking of bath amenities such as vanity kits, bags for wet swimming suits, which is basic for 5 star.

For outdoor experience all good, but the rest leaves much to be desired.

The place is really overpriced and needs a high quality refurbishment. There are many other places with excellent outdoor facilities for lower price.

Probably, first and last time.

Dear Mr./Mrs.,

Thank you for your review and comments therein.

It saddens us to hear that our resort design features and classic interior didn’t live up to your expectations and had such resemblances, however the resort was built only 9 years ago and most of it interior was completely refurbished 2 years ago.

When the interior of our resort was designed, our intention was to create classic yet spacious rooms with secured privacy. Therefore this kind of hangers, like in other luxury resorts, have been installed so our guests would have more space for their belongings as they are slightly smaller and more convenient.

Our entire resort is built exclusively from cedar logs, which were shipped from Canada. Even though cedar has an extraordinary features to calm the body and has measured benefits to our respiratory system, it is not as sound proof as stone or steel. To add, Esperanza is an eco-friendly resort and where possible tries to implement sustainable practices, therefore to advise our guests not to use air conditions we have curtains which greatly assists with acoustic issues plus absorbs the heat from the sun and keep our rooms cool.

It is unfortunate to hear that the bed size was also not up to your liking. In our resort we use only king size (185x205) and queen size (165x205) beds depending on the room classification.

All that being said, I am disheartened we did not meet your expectations. If I can assist further do not hesitate to contact me. admin@esperanzaresort.lt
