We stayed at Whatamonga Homestay in late Feb 2017 and enjoyed the great location and Colette's hospitality. The location on the waterfront provided great views in a tranquil landscape. The location is convenient for a trip into Picton whilst being outside of town and in a coastal rural setting.

Room Tip: I believe that all rooms have similar uninterupted views.

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. We do believe our rates are very competitive especially as our waterfront location also enables our guests to "get out on the water" and explore the bay at their own pace in kayaks and dingy provided for no additional cost...such an idyllic spot...Colette looks forward to welcoming you back to Whatamonga Homestay.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. This is a fantastic B&B with a wonderful hostess, Collette. She made us a delicious breakfast every morning and shared stories about NZ.Did I mention she had cookies and fruit to welcome us? She was also really helpful in making last minute reservations for a wine tour. One of the mornings we went kayaking in the beautiful Bay. That was AMAZING -a bit cold- but absolutely stunning. Collette has a dinghy and kayaks for you to use. Really, her home is one of the most beautiful places we have been to and we miss waking up to that view.

Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback. Our spectacular view right on the waters edge with easy road acess is why we chose to build Whatamonga Homestay. Being able to explore the area from the water at your own pace is just one of the many special activities our B & B offers. Colette looks forward to welcoming you back to Whatamonga Homestay in the very near future.

We were warmly greeted by Colette on arrival and she did everything to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Our cabin was clean and cosy, no tv but not necessary with the amazing views and we were just sad we didn't have good weather so we could sit on our decking. The only criticism is there is no wifi and we struggled without for 5 days!

Colette suggested wineries to visit and kindly booked a lunch for us at one of them when it was raining, which was great as we would not have got in without a phone call and it was a wonderful lunch. She also phoned the boat company for us when we did The Queen Charlotte Walk and nothing is too much trouble.

Continental breakfast is provided with muesli, fruit, yoghurt, and either homemade scones, muffins or croissants each day.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Whatamonga Homestay.

Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback.
We are thrilled you enjoyed your 5 days at Whatamonga and got to see and appreciate all that the area has to offer. Thanks for your feedback on WiFi. As we are in such an idyllic location, fibre optic internet connections are simply not available. Our guests do enjoy the calmness and serenity of our picturesque location and often comment how nice it is to take a break from the fast, paced, instant cyber world...We hope to welcome you back to Whatamonga some time soon...Kia Ora.

We stayed at this piece of paradise October 2016 and will definitely stay again. We were greeted by Collette who was a joy to talk to, was very attentive to insure we were comfortable and was very knowledgeable about the Picton area and New Zealand in general. There were homemade cookies and fresh fruit in our cozy, clean, modern unit with stunning views of the sound. Enjoyed homemade jams and homemade muesli for breakfast and delicious sandwiches for our trip to our next destination. Saw lots of birds, seals, dolphins, stingray, ferries, ships, etc. Would have been great to stay longer than 2 days. Exceptional value. Exceeded expectations. Tip on finding the location: it is on the left hand side of the road just after you see the house number 424 on the right if you are coming from Picton. Tip on getting onto the road from the homestay - roll down your window and listen for traffic as it is a bit of a blind spot.

"Magnificient View" is so often exclaimed by our guests as they initially enter their unit at Whatamonga Homestay. We are so thrilled you had the chance to see for yourself the birds, seals, dolphins, stingrays that frequent the bay and are so easy sighted from your very own private deck. Colette enjoys providing the homemade extras for her guests - jams, muesli, biscuits. We hope to see you back in NZ one day soon. Thanks for taking the time to post your comment.

Our family of six had a wonderful visit at Whatamonga Homestay. This very nice bed and breakfast sits above the Marlborough Sounds though a quick walk takes you to the rocky beach below. The views are spectacular, even on the one rainy day we had. Colette is a terrific host and is always willing to answer questions about local restaurants and activities. Her breakfasts were amazing and included a hot baked treat each day. If we are ever lucky enough to return to Picton, we will stay here again.

Room Tip: The separate chalets have the best views and are wonderful.

Hosting your family at Whatamonga Homestay was such fun for us to. The opportunity for you all to be together but still have your own space in units and rooms certainly made for a fun holiday. Colette enjoyed meeting you all and encouraging you to see all that the Marlbourgh Sounds offers. We hope to see you again for your next family reunion.

We stayed two nights and wished we could stay longer. Collette was charming and we enjoyed the breakfasts she made. The views from the units were amazing and very relaxing. It is close to Picton and not far from Blenheim Marlborough Wineries

Room Tip: Drive is very steep but it is worth it for the view

From the moment we arrived, Colette made us feel extremely welcome at Whatamonga. My husband and i stayed there for the Easter weekend and can't wait to return. We were the only guests there and were staying in the first cabin. When we pulled up, we were greeted by dolphins swimming in the bay and coffee and cake with Colette; it was instant relaxation as soon as we got out of the car. The photo's of the location do not do the view justice, it is one of the best views of any place i've stayed across the world. You get to enjoy the view from everywhere - breakfast table, deck, lounge, bed and barbeque areas! It was very peaceful and only a short drive to Picton and Blenheim. Colette has a wealth of knowledge about the area and recommended some great wineries for us to visit. We shared a lovely barbeque with her one evening and were treated to mini easter eggs with our breakfast and leftovers picnic on Easter Sunday. The little beach below the property is wonderful to go down too and in warm weather is great to be right on the water. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the north east of the South Island as it is a great location for so many areas of interest in Marlborough.

We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay at Whatamonga Homestay. Colette really enjoyed meeting you both and hosting you over the Easter holiday weekend. The Sounds are truly an idyllic spot especially when the dolphins are in the Bay. We look forward to seeing you back in NZ in the near future.
