We had 2 nights in the Moana suite which is absolutely beautiful. The views from all the suites and the living areas of the lodge are world class and you have to pinch yourself that you are here. Go to their website because what you see is what you get. The architecture is Mediterranean and the luxury lodge is set into the hillside. Swimming in the wet edge pool overlooking the ocean is a must. However can get crowded if all the guests want to use the pool at the same time as there is only enough lounges for 3 couples at any one time. Eddy is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The owner takes you to your room and then you don't see her again which is very different from other luxury lodges we have stayed but I guess is good if you want absolutely privacy. Like most lodges you usually click with one other couple which makes for terrific holiday experiences. The library needs some urgent attention as this is the kind of place you just want to sit around with a good book and relax and take in the views. Breakfast in the downstairs dining room is great however we didn't partake in the dinner option as we thought it overpriced at just under $200 each plus drinks. Pre dinner drinks and canapés are served on the terrace which was absolutely delightful. Many delightful vineyards in the area. We tried Mudbrick which was very nice and again great views.

For that kind $$$$ better be amazing place ... and lodge and pool was . The guest room was bit tired furnishing a wee bit on
Lower end for price . But view / location and overall property were top notch. Just a little older ...

But luxury properties are
About service ...The guys , Eddie and Sam were like having your own staff , no request too big or couldn't be managed .
Both worked long hours, so I expect might burnout and move on , but if they still there, Delamore is worth the price. If not maybe not .

Small high end hotels in NZ has become very small but profitable niche market . Catering to guests who stay and use to Four Seasons level of service ...

Guests when we were there had or were
Staying at NZ top small Inns .Where does Delamore rank ? We didn't see anything better in Waiheke, but shade below
Some rest . Eagles nest in Russell , Eden in Nelson , eichearts in Queenstown ,
But with Sam the " make everything Work guy "
and Eddie the chef ( former boat chef ) you felt very pampered .
Infinity pool was small but had breath taking view ... Delamore Lodge worth a look . Best wishes to guys!!

Thank you so much for your review
It was lovely to have you stay with us.
a few responses in regards to your comments

Our suites have been updated for this season and our linen is purchased internationally where I personally take trips to purchase - I can assure you I don't shop in mass hospitality places but personally travel and spend hours seeking out items that are different and not of a commercial nature -
we do have antiques however nothing is dated, new linen every year and drapes every two years, property painted this last year

Comparison with other properties mentioned should also be noted that the rates are considerably higher than Delamore lodge and in other regions that are considerably less expensive than Auckland
This may help a reader put your comparisons in perspective

All our staff are passionate to ensure our guests have a wonderful time with us, past and present, they have all made Delamore the success it is today. I appreciate and thank them all.

Any future staff that we may employ will continue with that attitude and pride, from the office staff that ensure all works well to the housekeepers, gardeners, and so on.

I can assure the writer and all readers that no one at Delamore has long burn out hours.
Service staff have breaks during the day to play and return again in the evening - 5 days a week with plenty of time out for holidays and those special events that come up. we are a people business and it is important that our people are also happy.

We hope to see you back again in NZ where we will continue to give you fabulous service

A group of us were fortunate to stay at the lodge for friends 40th birthday...wow what a treat...this place is truly A-MAZ-ING...!

We stayed in both the two bedroom apartment and a couple of separate rooms - so essentially had the entire place to ourselves.

The "cave like" spa / sauna area was something like I've never seen before - so don't forget your bikini. The pool area / view was as like a postcard unfortunately due to weather conditions I didn't get to take a dip :-(

Waking up and enjoying the most incredible breakfast EVER...lost count of how many delectable fruits were on offer...this was just for starters we were also offered a hot cooked breakfast however there simply wasn't enough room...!!

If you get the opportunity to stay in this gorgeous place go for it.

Bit of a late review but I stayed here Jan 2016 for 2 nights, purchased the romantic package. The experience was second to none. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels and villas, and nothing comes close to Delamore Lodge. Not to mention the accommodation itself was perfect, but being a boutique lodge the staff were so friendly, and definitely engaging to cater for your needs. Like other reviews, the attention to detail is amazing. I would definitely recommend this.

We absolutely loved our stay at Delamore and can't wait to come back. Flawless attention to detail. Warm, friendly, knowledgable staff. Special mention to Eddie the chef who went above and beyond spoiling us with his culinary delights. It was a magical 3 days. Sophie and Belinda
