This is a gorgeous area of the US ! The mountains are simply beautiful. We drove up Mt Washington and it was spectacular. We saw a large moose in the wild and he let us observe him for about a half an hour. Don't miss the many stunning waterfalls and gorges in the area . We did a lot of hiking and swimming - perfect area for nature lovers and we will be sure to go back

The mountains were really beautiful in their Autumn red colours. And the aerial cable car by the Old Man of the Mountains was well worth a visit, taking you a further few thousand feet to a summit. The cable operators were also quite amusing during the journey upwards, and the views from the top were spectacular. Well worth a visit.

And there is even Mussolinl's sword in the ski museum at the bottom.

Colours are beautiful but still short of being spectacular..may be one more week till it gets peak colours everywhere.

The campground is clean, quiet, close to a lot of attractions, and has a really great price. However don't come here if you're young and plan on staying up any later than 10pm. A recent stay the campground next to me was harrassed endlessly by the site host and the police even searched their camp. Not once was this group loud, they were simply a couple 20 something year old guys. I was more bothered by the host and police patrolling this group than by the actual group themselves. This being said, its a great place for families who want to go to bed early but if you're looking for a fun weekend with friends, don't go to Covered Bridge Campground.
