“Amazing views”

Reviewed July 17, 2012

We started our trek in Georgetown after a pleasant brunch in cafe Leopoldo (check my review).
We did a part of the C&O and another of the Crescent trail.
The views are beautiful. We came across lots of people running and biking. It's super busy.
We walked in a path between the river and the canal. It's so cool and it's not hard at all.
During our trek we got lost. We missed the exit to Bathsheba. Fortunately we found a nice guy that was very helpful.
We left the path and we walked along the road. Eventually we found the right trek to Bathsheba again.
The park should have more and better signs because it's very unclear, it's easy to get lost.

Capital Crescent Trail starts at Fletcher Boathouse on the Potomac and branches off the C&O Canal tow path heading NE towards Bethesda. The trail surface (formerly a rail bed) is well maintained and trail is suitable for pedestrians, hikers, bikers and skaters. While quite busy on weekends, trail traffic is light on the weekdays. Trail leads thru Montgomery county suburbs of Bethesda and Chevy Chase and the pavement stops just east of Rock Creek bridge, before trail hits downtown Silver Spring. While the trail is mostly thru parks and ravines, you will find your favorite coffee shops and bookstores when trail crosses downtown Bethesda. This is a great place for bike or walking trip from either end of the trail or from anywhere in between.

Thank Frank S
