A smart business hotel in a central location of DC, near Dupont Circle. The room was spacious, two television screens, a sitting area and a kitchenette. While the furnishings may be a bit old-fashioned, I found the room very comfortable. Great size bathroom with bathtub and shower. The bar and the restaurant are both great, though pricey. The best feature of this hotel - the staff. Very welcoming and helpful.

As others have noted, the location is good. A bit of a hike from Metro stations if you have luggage, but certainly walking distance to wide variety of destinations. The staff was uniformly, welcoming, helpful and pleasant. The lobby, bar and restaurant are beautiful and inviting, but the rooms are are throw back to the 80s....more orange, yellow and brown than you can imagine in one place at one time. I had a galley kitchen that I didn't need, again with appliances that could have been in my grandmothers house. My room faced M street and was surprisingly quiet but if you are a light sleeper I suggest a room in the rear. There is evidence that room renovations are planned and none too soon. Regardless, the bed, linens, and toiletries were first rate and almost made up for the dowdy decor. I can't imagine paying the rack rate but fortunately didn't have too because of the convention rate I was booked under. I'll review the restaurant separately but note here that it was both good and expensive.

Greetings KC R,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us. We are delighted that you found the staff interactions to be helpful and friendly. It is also great that you took advantage of the full service restaurant and lounge and found the quality to be good.
We too are excited about the upcoming room renovations. Every hotel has a life span of the room design and the new look of the rooms will reflect the beautiful design of the lobby level which you commented on being inviting and beautiful.

We thank you for staying with us during your convention and found the location to be centrally located and convenient.

We do hope that you will come back and stay with us again when the renovation of the rooms are completed. We have upgraded all the amenities within the rooms which you liked--so when the new design is completed, it will be perfect!

Thank you kindly for your feedback,

Robert Clark

Short business stay in DC. First visit to the St Gregory. Strong location, close to DuPont Circle. Those are the pluses. Rooms are very dated and paying over $340 per night for a view of the alley leaves much to be desired. Too many other more affordable options in the area.

Greetings from The St Gregory hotel,

Thank you for your feedback. It is good to know that as a business traveler you find the location of the hotel to be "strong" and convenient. We do wish to share that our rooms will be completed renovated in early 2018. We do realize that rates are high in Washington DC especially in peak season like October. We can guarantee you that our rates are competitive in the area. We would hope that you and your organization would consider the hotel for a corporate negotiated rate and stay with us all year long so rates are more favorable and you could also enjoy our newly renovated room product in 2018.

Thanks again for your comments!

Christopher greeted us when we arrived and was wonderful throughout our stay. He even made sure that we had enough space and supplied us with tourist information. Out door men were wonderful in helping us get unpacked and reloaded for the rest of our trip.

Room Tip: Great central location

My trips to St. Gregory are always ones to remember. First, the front desk staff members are both professional and personable. It is always an absolute delight to talk to Christopher (hope I got his name right) and find out about what's new in the city. He knows all the best hangouts and the hip new events happening during the week and on weekends. The rooms are always clean and the service is always impeccable...Not to mention the bar and on site restaurant are both great!!St. Gregory is, and always will be, my go to place when I'm visiting DC.

-The guy who looks like the guy that plays the guitar- lol

Room Tip: ask for a king room with a balcony..thank me later!!
