Description: Opened in 1963, Clyde's of Georgetown qualifies as an institution. This animated tavern in the heart of Washington's most famous neighborhood popularized saloon food and practically invented Sunday brunch. More than 50 years later, Clyde's continues the tradition, serving classic American cuisine to Georgetown locals and famous faces while passers-by stop in and mingle at the long oak bar. The re-designed interior is an open invitation to the restaurant's life and times with its many travel posters, paintings, and bronze statues. Clyde's of Georgetown remains a Washington classic.

I was with a relatively large party (12 people) but the server was friendly and well-organized. Very tasty salad followed by the lump crab cakes -- very well-prepared, attractively presented and delicious! My compatriots had steak frites, scallops, a burger -- all the meals were very good. Nice selection of beers and excellent wine and cocktails. Check out happy hour --- specials on drinks!

Had the most wonderful break from a long walking day spent in DC. Had a couple of cosmos and some nachos with my son. Sat at the bar and had great conversation with Steve keeping me totally interested in not just Clyde but also the vibe of D.C.! Awesome

We had a lovely evening at Clyde's. We were seated in a room with a great atmosphere. The very high ceiling was hung with model vintage aircraft which were interesting and fun. The restaurant was pretty full and there was a great buzzy atmosphere. The staff were just delightful. There was a bit of a delay with our starter, not enough for us to comment but the waitress was so apologetic & then the manager came over to apologise too. The food was really very good with some interesting choices as well as the standards, and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. Highly recommended.

The family was trying to grab a quick lunch while visiting Georgetown. Found Clyde at 5he busiest street and thought maybe i5 is another tourist restaurant.
We ordered some normal dishes but surprisingly the food was very well prepared and tasted nice. I think it also because the waitress who was serving us was very nice and understanding.
