My wife and I found this seafood establishment in DC. It turned out to be one of those rare exceptions you encounter. The chowder and skewered seafood were, as I said, done to perfection, and Antonio, our server, did us well.

The seafood chowder was very good. Emily and Dominic gave me a very good recommendation to add a couple scallops to the grilled shrimp scampi over lingui. Kudos to Emily and Dominic! We will be back.!

Always looking for good fish. This place had good reviews on Yelp. Got the fish chowda, plus grilled rockfish. Quite excellent really. Good service. The sauce was on the side, so it did not overwhelm the fish. Good selection of shrimps, crab, fish entrees, and soft shell crab dishes.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner last night at Grillfish. The ginger calamari is an excellent twist. The halibut and sea scallops were fresh and cooked perfectly. Loved the parmesan kale. Would definitely recommend. Great bustling atmosphere. Attentive service.

Had reservations. Placed at a table next to the grill, only to only be asked to move because another party needed the area. Only after we were seated and ordered drinks. The host could not communicate properly and seemed to not have an idea what was going on.

We were then seated at another table, when we noticed the entire interior was filled with a smoky haze of cooking food. Like a grill mixed with deep fryer smell.

Had crab cakes appetizer, which had lump fresh crab about the size of a quarter in it. Very good, but was only one.

We had delivered the mixed grill, which was billed as shrimp, scallops, mahi-mahi, and snapper. It was actually chunks on a skewer that was grilled (overdone). It was not worth the price, came with nothing (had to order separate side), and was not prepared well nor had the fresh taste.

Not expected. Given the reviews, I obviously expected more. And that's not what I got.

It has a lot of potential, but the smoky haze, lack of professionalism, and average food means average rating.

I would not come back.
