My son spotted this diner online and was determined to eat here after our visit to the zoo. We visited at about 5pm on a Monday afternoon and received a very friendly welcome and had our choice of seats. My son enjoyed a burger and a milkshake and I had a vegetable omelette with home fries. The food was good and the portion sizes were huge!

If you are looking for the real meaning of the American diner then this is it .
Breakfast is the best we had . Everyone found something that suits their taste .
If you are in DC you must have a breakfast in the diner .

I was actually heading for another place for breakfast when I found this unpretentious diner. The California Benedict (poached eggs on quinoa cakes with avocado, cilantro, and lemon hollandaise sauce) was delicious. If you can, sit outside and enjoy the street life.

Found this funky little place shortly after arriving in DC on Sunday morning. We were seated outside. Fun place, lots of laughter and music, even though it was early. They have a wide variety of breakfast foods to chose from. My son had eggs, hash and toast and said it was delicious Other son had eggs benedict and enjoyed those as well. I had the Migas (a mexican breakfast dish) and it was amazing! Very cheerful African american gentleman came around frequently to refill our coffee and made conversation with us and other diners. Unfortunately, our server started to complain about this man right in front of us, only because he was clearing our dishes while we were still at the table (which happens at every restaurant). We were taken aback at the server's attitude towards her fellow employees, especially since she was telling us, the customers, exactly how she felt. This was very unprofessional and made us uncomfortable. Otherwise, we enjoyed our breakfast.
