Came down last year for Octoberfest and enjoyed it so much we planned a trip to come again this year! Fun games, great band, and delicious food that was offered on their Octoberfest menu and regular menu. Our server Cathy really brightened our day, made great recommendations, and was very attentive. Definitely recommend Foxfire for their fun holiday celebrations.

Right across from b&b (Alpine Inn)...went over for a drink on first night/sat in "saloon"...the full bar has everything and the wine selection is good...Jo (bartender?) was mixing up a large jug of something....I asked her what it was, and she came over to the table with a "sample" of the margaritas she was making ... felt like a "regular" even though our first visit. Returned the following evening for dinner (Thurs. is their special fish night menu)...again friendly service...and the halibut we shared was delicious...if we were staying another night, this would be our choice.

Arrived about noon. If one other couple hadn't been there we would have thought it was closed. Not greeted for a couple of minutes. Then waitress apologized because she asked us to wait a few moments. She was "fiddling" with the computer/register. Finally took our drink & food orders together. Long time before sandwiches came out. Food was O.K., but certainly not exceptional.

We returned to Alpine, AZ, and just had to get back to the Foxfire at Alpine restaurant. This time we tried the pizza, or I should say I ordered the margherita pizza so husband could enjoy leftovers too (he doesn't eat veggies). It was wonderful...the crust that perfect mix of crispy and chewy. The sauce had a depth of flavor I would love to make myself. The fresh tomato, mozzarella and basil leaves were in perfect balance. Not to much of any item to overwhelm the whole. Can you tell I loved it?

Our next visit I had to try something new and enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich on a really nice, fresh bun, with macaroni salad. Yum!

Riley the mascot stole my heart again. Husband said maybe we should go see about adopting a dog like Riley...then changed his mind. But we are getting closer--lol. We both just love Riley.

Needless to say, we will be stopping in again soon to try something new! And service is always top notch. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, efficient and just plain perfect.

We ate here for dinner while camping at Big Lake. They have a terrific menu & it's a great chance of pace from campfire cooking & diners, which are the vast majority of what you find in the White Mountains. Because of this, expect to pay a bit more for your meal.

We happened to be there on "Pickers Night," when all of the local string players get together to jam. It was awesome! We felt like we were at a big family reunion. There's plenty of indoor & outdoor seating, but the place does fill up.

Thank you ExploreAZcouple for your kind words. We are always flattered when folks come from camping that far away to enjoy Foxfire. And, we are especially appreciative of your comments about our local musicians. They are a treasure to us and we're always happy to hear that others appreciate them too.
