The title of this review says it all. There is nothing at all special about the Alpine Inn, but if you're like us, and just want somewhere adequate to sleep, because you're going to be at The Parks all day anyway, this motel is just fine.
The room itself was small and very average, particularly the back bathroom portion, which seemed at or below the level of a Motel 6 and could definitely use some repair/updating.
However, my wife and I knew we would only be sleeping there, and just wanted something within walking distance of the parks. California Adventure literally backs onto this motel (you can see the backside of the Cars Land mountains from the motel parking lot), and it was a 15 minute walk to the main gates of both parks, without ever having to cross a street, and with a 7-11 conveniently en route. With this motel, location was everything.
The outdoor pool looked very nice, though it closes at 9:00pm so we never had a chance to use it. The front facade of the motel makes it look like a cute Alpine chalet, but rest assured that it's really just your basic drive-up motel in the back.
The Alpine Inn was fine for our needs, but is decidedly average. I picked it because it had one of the highest TripAdvisor ratings in the area, with many 4 and 5 star ratings. That part surprises me, but it worked just fine for us.
