Truth be told, we stayed at this hotel because the one we usually stay at was full for the Halloween week. I am actually grateful that it was. Desert Palms has a great location, within walking distance to Disneyland. Breakfast, parking, bunk beds are amenities that we look for and they had all of them. The room was great, TV was disappointing with channel and movie selections. Just basic cable, no real movie channels. We had a day where we needed to stay in and there wasn't much on TV. The breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast, waffles, toast, cereal, etc. Each day they had some variation of eggs, sausage and potatoes or biscuits and gravy. Not much variety but it was included in the price of the room so in all it wasn't horrible. The pool could use a makeover and seemed to be rather neglected. The hot tub chemicals were not maintained and we were hesitant to use it. They probably need to keep a closer eye on this (or maybe they do and it was just bad timing for us). The staff was great. They got us squared away when we arrived earlier than check-in so we could check out the area in the meantime. Check-in was quick. We had a room with bunk beds that the kids absolutely love. Each bunk had a light with switch that the kids made sure worked. We stayed 6 nights and we were hard pressed to find spots to store our clothing. Not much wardrobe storage for people staying a week or longer. I bring these things up mostly so others are aware and can plan accordingly. It is in no way intended to be a knock of the hotel. The hotel overall was great and we had no real complaints. Restaurant inside the hotel was good, prices were competitive with everything else in the area, and the quality was what I would expect. We were there a little earlier so all of our food was made to order. I give it two thumbs up.

Room tip: Fourth floor balcony has a "view" of California Adventures park. However, we were able to see the fireworks without issue.

We are a family of five and I was excited to find a hotel that would sleep all of us without having to sleep on a cot/sofa sleeper. We got a two room (with double bunk beds). The room felt super claustrophobic/small. Not much space for all our luggage or drawers for our clothes. No lamps in the bunk bed room and lights on the bunk beds didn't work. But rooms were clean and nice looking.
We did love that they did offer free parking and was only two blocks from Disney which saved us from paying for parking/shuttle. We felt pool closed a little earlier than would like with Disney hours open so late. After spending all day at the park, we would of loved to spend time in hot tub but found not much time to when we got back to hotel after we watched the parades. Keep in mind that everyone has the same idea, so hot tub was usually crowded and it is not a very big hot tub to start with.
We were no impressed with their Free Breakfast. It was the same thing every morning, rotating between breakfast burrito and egg white scramble. Not much of a variety and Food was bland. My kids wouldn't even eat the donuts (which says a lot!). The fruit was not very fresh. We thought having a breakfast at hotel would save us money but ended up buying more food at stores and park to supplement breakfast.

Room tip: Free parking, Walking distance with kids to Disneyland

My husband and I stayed at the Desert Palms Hotel and Suites in October 2018. We were looking for a hotel which offered breakfast and within a reasonable walking distance to Disneyland/California Adventure and we got both with the Desert Palms.

Our room faced California Adventure and was quiet and spacious. It was a smidge dated in decor but the level of cleanliness was excellent.

The continental breakfast was offered in a large room 9n the 5th floor and there was indoor and outside umbrella covered seating for those who wanted to enjoy every minute of th3 great California weather - which we did. The food offerings were the standard waffle station and alternating egg option each day. The choices were family friendly and plentiful. The breakfast staff were kind, helpful and friendly.

The front desk staff were very helpful all hours of the day. If you had any questions - they were there to help. We really appreciated their attitude and friendly service.

The hotel offers both underground and above ground parking.

The pool and hot tub area is situated in the middle of the hotel with rooms overlooking its location. The pool and hot tub were clean and there were plenty of towels provided.

We would certainly stay at the Desert Palms Hotel and Suites again and would highly recommend it for all who wish to enjoy Anaheim and Disneyland/California Adventure.

Room tip: We always ask for a room away from elevators and away from busy streets.

This hotel has everything you need if you want to avoid parking fees and shuttle buses to the Disney parks. Rooms are clean, extremely average decor. We did not use the pool. It it looked rather small for the size of the hotel. Breakfast room got a thumbs down from my family, but it looked like many others were satisfied with the offerings based on the crowd that was there when went to take a look. Scrambled egg whites were a big turn off as well as the gray looking sausage; but there was a waffle maker and several varieties of cereal available so we probably could have found something to eat. There is a Starbucks across the street which got our vote. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you are looking for a resort experience, but if you just need a place to lay your head and rest your feet after a long day at the park, it fits the bill.

We visited Disneyland and stayed at the Desert Palms for 4 nights. Our party of 9 (ranging in age from 7-77) had no trouble with the short walk to the park from the hotel, which we did a couple times a day. Breakfast each morning made the days easier to get going and there was enough variety for everyone to find something to eat. The staff we all friendly and the rooms were clean. We'd stay here again without hesitation.

Room tip: Elevators to 2nd floor a little awkward, but an easy walk up a single flight of stairs.
